La Carte Aux Tresors is BACK!

By | April 4, 2018

On France 3 from April 25th. Sounds like they’re returning to the original classic format as well, but now with Cyril Feraud as the host in a helicopter.

Official press shots and interview here (in French).

We wrote about the old show here.

There are worse ways to spend two hours.

Edit: The Button, Alex Horne’s Taskmaster with families format, starts Friday April 20th on BBC1 at 8:30pm. Format sounds intriguing, seems to have rollover contestants.

I read that they’re only doing four episodes, so I guess this is a test run to see if the format still has any juice…

It is. And spread around holidays rather than during summertime (which sounds smarter) , will return is ratings are good.

Speaking of ratings – the first episode will have some interesting and unexpected competition against him since TMC (TF1’s main digital channel) will air at the same time that day the first episode from the revival of Burger Quiz, a one season-wonder quiz from Canal+ in 2001 that quickly gained cult status due to its question writing (quite similar to YDKJ with many obscure but laughing trivias, subtle decoy answers), rotating host every month or so, each giving their own spin to the show a great casting of supporting celebrities and an hard endgame. One random episode , there : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HY7_4hCea00

BAFTA 2018 Comedy Entertainment Programme nominees are pretty gameshow-centric this year; Taskmaster, WILTY and Murder in Successville all nominated, along with The Last Leg.

Entertainment Programme has BGT, The Voice, Saturday Night Takeaway and McIntyre’s Big Show.

Of potential interest, an episode of the Chinese version of nearly-there Israeli quiz Raid The Cage. The lessons learned from The Edge, Take on the Twisters, et al. about overly-long and extremely dull opening quiz rounds have evidently not made their way east. Lovely set, anyways.
