Summer is almost upon us, and as we know Summer is officially measured by “is Fort Boyard on?”
We’ve opened our FB ’19 discussion page.
Look out for a live stream playthrough of the official new Microids Fort Boyard game, coming to Switch and other platforms, when it’s released (currently down for June 19th in the Nintendo store – yes we appear to be getting a proper English version). It’ll probably be a bit rubbish, but at least that will be funny.
The Nintendo site suggests there’ll actually be an English-language card release.
If that’s true, and I actually see it in Nottingham GAME…I still wouldn’t buy it.
I wonder if they bothered with a proper translation, or assumed no-one would be interested in a English and just bunged it into Google Translate?
Microids have been in the game for a long while, not just in France. I think they’ll have done it properly.
Indeed, this is their fourth (?) Fort Boyard game I think and the first one, The Challenge, had full English voiceover and everything, although they’ve not done one for a long time (Mindscape had the license for the last one?).
The Family Brain Games start June 17th….

I have to say, I still think the title is rubbish, but I’ve seen pictures and it looks good – very much the sort of thing we like.
The weirdest thing is this YouTube video about it back from March, quite possibly automatically generated by an algorithm. Nothing new, nothing we didn’t already know – in fact, some of the details may well have been out of date. But it claims to have been out as long ago as March!
You can upload videos in readiness weeks in advance, but only make them publicly accessible nearer the time you want.
Buzzerblog has just tweeted me to say that Nickelodeon have ordered a US version of The Crystal Maze.

-10 hour-long eps, families will be the teams, will film on the UK set, no host named yet.
Will be interesting to see how timing works- they’ll basically have 40 minutes of show time, so 8 games perhaps? (Though they could create some games with 1:30 time limits- doubt they’ll be more than 1 3:00 game per ep)
Or they could just make slight edits during each of the games like they do on the current UK version.
I hope they don’t keep cutting to contestant interviews during the action like they do on a lot of American reality tv shows. At least Fort Boyard Ultimate Challenge confined these to after each game.
That’s my worry as well.
Is this the US version that was mentioned before,or is there still an entirely separate version for adults?
probably the former. still, glad to see TCM FIANNLY coming to yankland.
Nickelodeon is getting quite intriguing with their gameshows, with are you smarter and now this. Wouldn’t surprise me if nickelodeon ordered a nick stars version of taskmaster.
Actually the button seems like a very nickelodeon show now that I think of it, quick someone tweet Alex Horne.
