8/TC have done a number of similar bluffing games since with varying success.
Mmm… I have a lot of sympathy with your point in general about CiaB Classic, but I don’t think the sequel happens to damage the legacy of the original at all, though it might well have done. Very happy to wait a good few years for a third, if ever, or have an apparent third as a blown-off Joe Wilkinson gag, or something.
