Show discussion: Quiz Trippers

By | July 11, 2011

Five people spend the week travelling to pub quizzes in a van, at the end of the week they vote on who to give all the winnings to. But is it any good? 5pm, weekdays on Channel 4.

I didn’t think it was completely awful, Christopher Biggins is mildly amusing, and you did get to see 16-20 questions over the course of the half-hour. It’s interesting to see pub quiz formats.

It looked and felt a bit cheap, I wouldn’t go out of my way to watch it.

I tried to like it, I really did. I enjoyed the Come Dine With Me-esque voiceover. But the questions were simply impossible. And not much happened other than the quiz, to be quite honest. Maybe subsequent episodes will be more fun once the contestants get to know each other; we shall see.

Anyone who goes on a quiz trip like that is My Kind Of Town Music Person, but, blimey, it must take a lot of resources to make the enterprise look that cheap.
