Sort of Board of Excitement 11th – 17th November

By | November 11, 2012

Struggling. Still, don’t forget Word Up! is still ongoing, as of Sunday 2pm the prize is £45. You can have one guess after every letter reveal, we’ve had loads of entries but nobody has cracked it yet. Could it go today?

  • I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! – COME ON CONLEY. (Sunday night 9pm and then nightly variously, ITV1)
  • 1001 Things You Should Know – New Sandi Toksvig quiz comes to Channel 4 afternoons. I’m not sure what they’re going to do when they get through all 1001 things, mind. A show discussion post will appear tomorrow. (Weekdays, Channel 4, 3:30pm) – Countdown is pushed back to 2:40pm.
  • Only Connect – Children in Need special, featuring The Goldfingers (Charlie Higson, Daisy Goodwin, Matthew Parris) take on The Fowls (Clarke Carlisle, Rosie Boycott and Richard Osman). (Monday, BBC4, 8:30pm)
  • Fifty 50 Show – this week featuring the first “proper” game of 21 Questions Wrong. The game is nicked off the Italians, the music is nicked off the French, the money is nicked from the English. I can exclusively reveal it to be epic. (Monday)
  • Children in Need – will almost certainly feature Have I Got A QI of Sport’s Buzzcocks All Over For You. (Friday, BBC1, from 7:30. Do give generously.)
  • Schlag den Raab – His current run began with a 66-0 drubbing and he’s gone five wins on the trot. On Saturday a contestant will try and beat Stefan Raab for a jackpot of €3m. And hopefully, hopefully, we will be providing a live alternative English commentary for you to listen to. Hopefully. (Saturday, Pro 7 and internet, 7:15pm UK time).

For those who watched Deal or No Deal this week it was nothing but The Banker thrashing everybody with contestants either having £250,000 on the table or crashing out. What has happened on Affari Tuoi (Italian Deal or No Deal) is nothing compared to what has happened this week. It might as well be dubbed as the week from hell, thus.

Wednesday – Contestant reaches the final four boxes and opens Pacco Matto as his next box. Chooses one scroll from eight which is revealed to he the Arrivederci scroll and therefore has to leave the game and wait for another show to play again. The Italian region in the black envelope has to continue from where the first contestant left off. She ended up dealing for €5,000

Thursday – New contestant reaches the half way stage and opens Pacco Matto as their next box. She ends up choosing the Arrivederci scroll from the eight available. She has to wait until another show to play again. New player from the black envelope is revealed and she ends up winning €0.20

Friday – Contestant opens Pacco Matto and ends up picking the Dimezza scroll. This reduces the top prize on the board as of what is left in half (€500,000 now becomes €250,000). Plays to the end and leaves the lowest two values €0.01 and €0.20. Ends up winning €0.01

Saturday – Contestant plays to the end and her box reveals to be Pacco X. However, it was revealed she chosen the envelope with the second lowest value, €0.10.

Sunday (Today) – Max reveals today’s player as the one from Wednesday’s show who had to return to their wing position because of choosing the Arrivederci. Kept saying he wanted to get rid of Pacco Matto. Reaches four boxes (as before) and opens Pacco Matto as his next box. One again he can choose from scroll from eight available. His chosen scroll was revealed to be Arrivederci again! He has to return to his box opening position for a second time and cannot play until a future show. New contestant from the black envelope is revealed and takes his place. She ends up winning a slingshot.

This means for the last five shows they have given away €5,000.31 and a slingshot. Two players has yet to return to play their game to the end, including one who has to wait for a second time to play his again.

What was the offer for the board that you indicated on twitter was Slingshot, Pacco X, €100, Pacco Matto and Pacco Y, anyway?

bad day on Avanti Un Altro! too.
in the Sunday episode (the theme was “high IQ, low IQ”) a grand total of THREE scrolls were drawn in the entire episode! and it took a MENSA member to break the ice.

Also, Bonolis hurt his leg while taking the Alien off the stage.

I caught the last 10-15 minutes and did wonder why.

      A) Nobody was yet to be seated in the champions chair and
      B) Paolo’s trouser leg was pulled up.

I find the antics of Paolo and the Alien very amusing as of late with him or the bouncer carrying him off. Reminds me of John Cleese carrying Andrew Sachs in Fawlty Towers.

Looks like the week from hell on Affari Tuoi continues.

Monday (Today) – Contestant from the region of Marche had one blue value (€0.50) at the 11-box stage. Played until three boxes remaining. €0.50/Pacco X/€50,000. The Doctor offers the swap, which he swaps his box, 20 for box 5. Keeps box 20 to the end which was either Pacco X or €50,000. Doctor offers €10,000, which he rejected. His new box contained Pacco X and therefore swapped away €50,000. The contents of Pacco X was revealed to be only €15.

This means since Wednesday they have given away €5,015.31 and a slingshot.

I’m surprised yet the banker hasn’t offered a player here the chance to abandon their game and return to the wings – but forcing them to choose another player (or the banker identifying one) rather than choosing at random.

I’m not entirely convinced that ‘blue’ is a way of cooking steak. I mean, sure, it’s a way of preparing it, and that way involves applying heat to it for a short period, but… I dispute the cooking part.

    Tasty that way, mind.

Looks like the so called week from hell has come to an end on Affari Tuoi

Tuesday (Today) – Contestant from Campania had this board. Don’t forget The Doctor knows what is in the boxes.

    €50
    Pacco Matto
    €50,000
    €75,000
    €250,000

The Doctor offers €65,000 which is thought about and rejected. Next box removed was €50 and the phone rings for The Doctor to make a new offer but he offers €65,000 again. Decides to accept the offer followed by groans from the audience (always the case if they think the deal is poor) but left Pacco Matto and €75,000 at the end. His box had Pacco Matto. Had he opened his box then he would’ve won €500.

It’s worth pointing out the two contestants who chose the Arrivederci scroll. The guy on Wednesday and Sunday, also the girl on Thursday have yet to complete their game in full.
