It’s the last live Millionaire tonight

By | December 19, 2013

ITV, 9pm.

Find out which of Sir Eamonn Holmes and Alex Ferguson, Caroline Quentin and Carol Vorderman and Kian Egan and Rebecca Adlington gets stiffed by the klaxon for the last time ever.

It’s not quite the last ever episode (although it is effectively the last one being made), two more have been pre-recorded this week for going out whenever. Which seems the wrong way round to be doing it, but whatever.

I saw the penultimate episode being filmed yesterday (and actually a bit of the final episode as they kept our audience in to watch the conclusion to the third celeb couple game presumably as they wouldn’t be too happy at waiting around until the evening audience turned up!).

Great fun and Chris Tarrant is a real devil off camera, the swear box would certainly be full anyway especially when he had to reshoot the pre show competition trailer for the tenth time!

I’m not going to ruin the celebrity pairings for the recorded shows (They air in February from what I could tell based on the closing date of the viewer prize draw) but one actually made reference to Alex Ferguson being on the show (As Chris had mentioned it during a break) which obviously had to be shot again as the recorded shows go out after the appearance of Alex Ferguson!

Also a very funny moment involving a butterfly which somehow found the way into the studio, I don’t think they’ll be able to cut it out from the final edit!

Your tweet: “I’m being heavily sarcastic about Pointless, obviously, although that’s the first time under 4m in weeks and weeks.”

Sorry for pedantry, but it’s actually the third time it’s been under 4m this week (3.99 on Tuesday, 3.89 on Wednesday).

I always like it when I mention Wheel/Jeopardy/Price is Right being on all year round (100 years in broadcasting continually between them) as a counter argument everyone goes “yeah but that’s AMERICA, that’s DIFFERENT” like that’s some sort of argument.

Things will last as long as they last.
