Three day rule

By | July 29, 2014

I don’t really like going more than three days without a new post so there’s this.

Some interesting stuff coming up, The Singer Takes It All starts on Friday (and I’m going to have to watch on catch-up, annoyingly, so do let us know how the app copes) and The 21st Question with Gethin Jones starts on Monday in the The Chase slot, 5pm ITV. Or the Take On The Twisters slot if you’d prefer.

Summer Special week on DoND this week – nothing unusual in that but what is different are the contents of Box 23 for the week…

    DOUBLE/+£20,000/HALF/QUARTER/NOTHING

The idea behind +20 is presumably to try and get more people to go for it but adding another “blue” option surely means that middling winners will be even less likely to go for it than before!

I thought +10 was too high as a potential bonus for the really low winners, +20 seems ridiculous!

(A side note – No Money Back means no 1p winners guaranteed for a week).

The Quarter was in Box 23 on Tuesday with the contestant buying the box and ending up going from £10 down to £2.50!

Yes – 2x Half Penny winners so far I believe – They actually win a certificate saying they’ve won a Half Penny rather than a genuine old ha’penny as I had wondered.

By contrast there has been only one actual 1p winner since the turn of the year (about a week ago) due to the now-required combination of 1p and Money Back.
