Prized Apart starts soon

By | June 2, 2015

Probably Saturday 20th or 27th. Edit: It’s the 13th. Anyway here’s a trailer:

And you may remember I saw an episode being recorded back in February, and this is what it was like. Set looks pretty good from the camera angle on telly it does have to be said.

It’s going to look a bit strange in the broadcast though – they filmed the show in real time but it’s been in the can for months, so when you see the surviving adventurer get on the plane to go back to the adventure it’s dark out, where of course it’ll be light out now, which rather betrays its lack of up-to-the-minute-ness. Still though.

Edit: If you hadn’t gathered The Cube starts again on Wednesday night. It’s almost certainly a demotion, but at the same time light entertainment tends to do quite well on Wednesdays, and it hasn’t been doing the business at the weekend for a while now, so we’ll see.

Just found out the new series of The Cube starts tomorrow (Wednesday) at 8pm.

Seems a really odd slot for it!

Yeah, this came up in an ITV press release about a week ago.

3.3m/18.1% for The Cube last night, which is sort of… okay?

Tends to skew young and male anyway.

Chain Reaction returned in Italy and it’s doing great against Still Standing.

the set and the theme got a facelift and now there’s the show’s official puzzle magazine! (Amadeus shows it at 27:00)

Not too surprisingly, reports suggesting The Singer Takes It All has been axed by C4. No great loss, not amazingly well thought out, but was at least quite funny.

    It’s hard doing interactivity.

Apparently next week that Bob Monkhouse documentary series is going to be heavily dedicated to his hosting career…

With The Cube moving midweek and The Hobbit airing next week, have ITV abandoned commissioning anything for summer Saturday nights, knowing they’ll only be axing it six weeks later. Harry Potter reruns have begun yet again in the afternoons so I suspect they’ll be promoted to the evenings for the later episodes as usual.

I *think* the plan might be to air series 2 of Keep it in The Family on Saturdays in July/August. They started recording it last week and ITV Media had it down for Saturdays in Q3. I expect it’ll be Potter reruns into July and then Family starting in mid-late July. Not sure what they’ll have it on with though. Tipping Point: Lucky Stars maybe?
