What are you up to this Bank Holiday weekend? That’s right, nothing! So why not join us on Sunday night for the very second Bother’s Bar Smash Bros tourney on the Wii U?

To play you will need v1.1.0 which has introduced Tourney mode. If you have not booted your copy up for a while, you’d do well to do it in advance to make the patch download happen.

To join, click on the Nintendo Network icon top right of the menu, then click the Events > Tournaments tabs. You can search for us, here are the details:

Date: Sun 30th August, 9:00pm – 10pm UK – drop in and out as you please.
Name:
Bother’ Bar [no ‘s’ I’ve just noticed]
Tournament ID: 51531042063538
Password: tarrant [all lower case]

Or if you’re friends with me on Wii U (Brig Bother) there’s an option to join friends, come find me. There is a limit of 100 players, although it’s unlikely that will get hit.

60 minutes of fighting fun – rounds are two minutes, stages are random, all items on, you can play with Mii Fighters but customisations are off. Most points at the end of the 60 minutes wins!

Join us! You can watch Partners in Crime on catch-up I’m sure. You cvan register now, but do remember to turn up!

Avanti Un Altro! returns in 20 days!

while you wait, here’s a little gem.

“Si o No” was show that aired in 1993 and 1994 with little success. Then Paolo Bonolis took over, reshaped it into Tira & Molla and made it a smash hit.

the contestants are two individuals instead of two couples

the first round is a series of yes/no questions, just like on Tira & Molla

in the second round contestants have to carry jars through a course. some jars contain a “yes” card which gives the contestant money and reveals a piece of the puzzle board. the first to solve the puzzle is the winner (usually it’s guessing a song title or a famous person)

the bonus round is the same as on Tira & Molla (blind trades to accept or refuse) but only the winner plays it.

This should be interesting. I was waylaid by a BBQ last time you did this, and I haven’t touched Smash since Melee. I may be something of a sacrificial lamb.

Oh God, I’ve got a horrible feeling I’ve put the wrong date in setting it up. Thanks for pointing that out.

    “60 minutes of fighting fun”
“Most points at the end of the 90 minutes wins!”
Unless that was a deliberate football pun, seems your numbers are flipping around randomly too…

Oh dear, that’ll teach me for copy and pasting without reading it all first.

      It’s going brilliantly so far!
