David Bowie

By | January 11, 2016

We were very sad this morning to hear the news about David Bowie who makes up a considerable proportion of my record collection.

So as a sort of tribute, a song from the fourth best film of all time (and in its own way, a cracking format) Labyrinth.

Thanks, this is quite interesting if a bit slow.

A contestant has 15 minutes to traverse the ‘labyrinth’. In each room she faces three questions or mental challenges on a theme given by the host or special guest on the video wall – the first question is a 50/50 choice worth 10k, the second question four options worth 20k, the final question is open ended and wirth 30k.

If she earns more than 30k in a room the correct door (of two) is lit for her. If she scores less than 30k she’s forced to go through the ‘wrong’ door. If she scores exactly 30k then she has to guess. If she successfully goes through seven right doors she wins everything earnt, three wrong doors or time runs out then game over.

Edit: looks like there’s a final challenge if you get to the end of the labyrinth, an oddly dressed man waits for them and it looks like the contestant has whatever time they have left to ask yes/no questions to work out who he is/what he does.

It looks a bit like The Exit List whilst being not much like The Exit List. The edit between rooms is mildly clever.

I think it’s not a game over with 3 wrong rooms- I watched some of the other episodes, and people have had 3 wrong. (Now no one got a 4th, so that might be a game over, or at least a time penalty). I think if they did a constant clock here it might flow better- the 15 minutes is only thinking/answering time, and they only get through 1 contestant an episode.

Fair enough, I was guessing a bit (similarly I assume the endgame is a bit What’s My Line but it’s only an educated guess). I’d be interested to find out what the penalty is – there must be one – if you can work it out!

Very interesting format. I love those kinds of shows that look really futuristic like that, and even though I don’t speak ANY Serbian, it looks straightforward to follow

That’s one of the great things about YouTube, you can find stuff that you’d never see anywhere else, and it recommends other videos to you on the side, so I was able to see some other Serbian game shows, like how they do Wheel Of Fortune, 1 vs 100 and The Chase

I saw that ep of Serbian WOF- for 2016, boy is it a low budget-show (the wheel is loaded with €3, €5, and €7 spaces).
