Bits and Pieces

Some stuff you may have missed:

  • ITV daytime summer season starts next week with Cash Trapped with Bradley Walsh moving into the 5pm slot followed by Alphabetical two weeks later. The big question is where does Rebound go? Twenty episodes finished filming yesterday, Tipping Point is still down for 4pm next week (wisely – well done to ITV for looking like they’ve got a strategy this Summer). Do they use it to lead into new episodes of The Chase?
  • Hot off the back of Robot Wars returning was a surprise announcement that Time Commanders is returning. They are looking for teams of three to take on the historical wargaming computer sim and then take on other teams. You can apply through the BBC.
  • It’s the Big Brother final tonight! Celeb Big Brother starts on Thursday on Five.

Stumbled upon the fact that the third series of Fool Us has not only recorded but is already airing in America:

I hadn’t realised Jonathan Ross was no longer the host. In any case, I was intrigued to see the flashback clips during the intro piece seem to have been taken from the then ITV1 HD broadcast.

If I was ITV, I’d wait until The Question Jury had cleared off and then aired them from the 8th. I don’t think that’ll be what they actually do though, I suspect they’ll air it in the same end-of-year slot 1000 Heartbeats went out in at the end of last year.

    Time Commanders – coming back?
Blimey – there have been wars down through history which have ended quicker than the gap between Series 2 and Series 3.

Another one heading for the BBC Two Sunday 8pm Top Gear slot, me thinks..

I really want Eddie Mair to come back and host series 3. His stewardship of series 1 was quite brillant. He did it with an air of bemusement, that he couldn’t quite believe that a group of people could get so animated over a computer simulation. If not him, you can’t go back to the Series 2 host, Richard Hammond now he’s an Amazon Prime salesman.

Shurly not another one for Dara to host?

The press release says it’s airing on BBC Four. That said, I would prefer Mair as host than Hammond or O’Briain…

The first episode of “Neulim” (better known here as the new Endemol Shine format “Trapped Doors” that was discussed here recently) aired in Israel last night. The full episode can be found here if anyone’s interested: http://reshet.tv/Shows/locked/vml,1539/

Not the greatest format I’ve seen, but the set is absoulutely amazing.

You’ll have to use the dark arts- I haven’t been able to get the video to play..

Sadly, I was able to watch it with no problems earlier but they seem to have caught on and geoblocked it.

I imagine there’s probably a naughty stream for Reshet out there somewhere if that’s what it comes down to in order to watch a later epsiode, though.

news from Italy: Affari Tuoi will meet quite some competition next season because two networks just announced that they’ll put their own game show against it.

Boom! from late August on NOVE (previously Deejay TV) hosted by Max Giusti.

Italia1 instead resurrects Cultura Moderna. host unknown.

http://m.dwdl.de/a/56949 First promo pic from German Family Feud remake that will air from 05.09. together with Jeopardy (Jeopardy airs at 6:40pm and Familienduell at 7:25 pm) on digital niche channel RTLPlus. Chosen episodes will also air on Saturday afternoons on RTL.
They definitely want these shows to succeed, they even made sure to be receivable in almost every household until then, so I’m curious how they will make the shoes.
