I missed the first ten minutes of Only Connect last night, coming in just as round one was finishing up. Therefore I missed Victoria’s pre-show message about there being a mistake in the show with relation to the Gang of Four, only wondering what was going on when she popped up again during the credits.
Amusing that it went through several people and nobody spotted it at the time, intrigued to know who picked it up and when. Still, holding their hands up rather than attempting to style it out (which won’t fly with this particular audience) is admirable. Will the losing team get another go? Given the scores at the end and the location of the clue it probably wouldn’t have changed the outcome.

I didn’t catch the mistake in question, but did enjoy the other guesses from people on Twitter. Including in the introduction joke, with “in the words of Sooty”, being wrong as of course Sooty is mute.
I then did wonder ‘does Sooty count as mute because he whispers into ears, surely he must speak then, just very quietly’.

Good news! The channel controller of Prosieben has confirmed in an interview today that Schlag den Star will return for 6 more episodes next year.

In the random American game show file, the long awaited/withheld (this project was originally announced October 2015) Chris Hardwick hosted The Wall has finally gotten a date for Tuesday, January 3rd. It will also get a preview episode on December 19th after the America’s Got Talent Holiday Special… because nothing says the holidays like Simon Cowell.
Both teams were of course summoned to a hasty and shame-faced Star Chamber, where it was found that having a non-faulty question could not have changed the outcome. As for me, I will be taken out and humanely shot before the next series.
Heh.
I’ve also been informed that it was a mistake on the system and that the question verifiers had actually done their job correctly.
