  1. David Bodycombe says:

Am I being stupid or something? I can’t see it on the server’s list of scheduled events.

    • David Bodycombe says:

I found it using the simple view but I’ll be blowed if I can find it on the advanced view.

      • Gizensha says:

Oh, I agree that the navigation for private tournaments is hideous… I can usually find it eventually, mind.

        • Brig Bother says:

Is it that hard? Private tab, Feb 07 15:00, $10+1, look for the BotherSOP.

          • Gizensha says:

It seems to scroll weird, so I can look through all of them, not find it, look through them all on the way back up, still not find it, and need to scroll through two or three times before I find the right $10+1 game on the right date at the right time.

            • David B says:

For me, the first time the software starts you can’t even see the Private tab on the Advanced view, although now I can clearly see it.

I have to say, FT is stone age compared to the now-actually-rather-good bwin.

  2. David Bodycombe says:

Also, wouldn’t organising a chat window somewhere be a bit more efficient than posting on here…? I can see the threads on here getting a bit messy.

  3. Gizensha says:

    Oh, bleh, update required.

  4. Brig Bother says:

When the game’s going, you can chat online to your heart’s content. You can increase the size and move the chat window as you see fit.

  5. Matt C says:

I’ll be a little late starting, I started a ‘quickie’ tournament to get used to the poker software. Two hours later, we’re in heads-up…

  6. art begotti says:

    Good luck to everyone playing!

  7. Brig Bother says:

    Me: AA
    David: JJ
    Giz: A6

All-all-in pre flop, a J flops. THIS IS MY UNHAPPY FACE.

    • Gizensha says:

In my defence, they were both hearts.

      • Gizensha says:

(Which isn’t to say if I was doing better than last, less than half the chips of the next guy up, and less than half my initial chips I would have done it, or even that I should have done it, but… That they were both hearts was fundamental in my doing it.)

  8. Greg says:

GG guys for some reason when i lost was booted and could not get back in to say cheers and good luck to Foxy and David.

  9. Simon says:

Well done David. Lost on a coin-flip.

    • Simon says:

Looking back, the turning point was David hitting a 5-outer on the river for a 4k pot which left me down to 2k in chips and chasing the game.

      • Brig Bother says:

David got his chips in a massive underdog quite a lot, I noticed. Not just against me, either…

        • David B says:

Gee whiz, game 1 and already there’s previous. Of course, everyone’s conveniently forgotten the draws I lost when I was ahead. I gambled when I had chips and I was tight when I didn’t. I don’t remember my hands being caught in the till, and I laid down rather more good hands than most other players, I fancy. So if I’m patient and then I get lucky, so be it. That, my friends, is poker. No doubt you’ll have plenty of time to get your revenge in the rest of the tournament.

          • Brig Bother says:

Ha ha, come on, you mainly got into a winning position by winning massive pots as a massive underdog on each occasion. I’m not going to take anything away from your victory only to say that in theory, if you play like that for the rest of the league then I couldn’t be happier!

IT IS ON LIKE DONKEY KONG.

  10. Simon says:

Just tried to withdraw my winnings to resist the temptation to lose it all before BSOP2 but there seems to be a $50 minimum withdrawal.

    • Brig Bother says:

This is true, although I did link to the transferral information page beforehand.

On the plus side, the next tournament should go up tomorrow so you can register for it very soon.

      • Simon says:

Would it let me deposit to make my account up to $50 and then withdraw it all?

        • Brig Bother says:

Actually a great question and one I don’t know the answer to. You could always try it, or at least ask the peeps there. Don’t forget that the minimum deposit for most methods is $30.

I know places like PokerStars and especially PartyGaming aren’t fond of that sort of thing, Stars requiring it to stay in your account for a few days before withdrawing (their reasoning is that they haven’t got your money yet, although I suspect it’s more to do with if it’s there, you might spend it with them). Party Gaming seem to insist on you having to earn a certain amount of points with them before you’re allowed to wothdraw, which strikes me as being really dangerous.

I suspect FT will work along similar lines to Stars, but I’ve not tried it before.

  11. Greg says:

Looking back i don’t think i would have done anything different and presented with that situation again i would do exactly the same so i can’t be bitter or upset these things happen in the game of poker.

  12. Ronald says:

Nice game everyone! Turning up, playing about 2 hands, and finishing half way up the table is alright I suppose..

  13. Dan Peake says:

Sorry I couldn’t make it, i was playing Risk. I came last, if you’re interested.
