Bother’s Bar has its very own poker club on Pokerstars. It’s free to join and plays a mixture of real money and fun play money tournaments throughout the year. The main events being the Bother Series of Poker – a series of real money Hold’ em events and Mix It Up Real Good, a series of free non-hold em events, both of these held between January and June.
Occasional games will be held in the second half of the year. As a casual player or someone a bit more hardcore you are invited to every game whether it’s a one-off or a league game (even if you have no interest in the league). Keep checking back to see if there’s a game on.
Joining the club is easy:
- If you don’t already have it, download the free PokerStars software from www.pokerstars.com
- Open the main poker lobby, then click on the Home Games tab
- Click the ‘Join a Poker Club’ button
- Enter my Club ID number: 466738
- Enter my Invitation Code: onlyconnect
There is likely to be a consultation before The BSOP’13 as we want as many people to play as possible.

OK, lots asked if there will be games in the off-season, the answer is YES – keep the evening of Thursday 12th July free – 8:30pm start.
It’s Le Tour, so it’s time for Le Tournoi – KING OF THE MOUNTAINS – hold ‘em as a second category climb.
- 5,000 starting stack
- 5 minute levels
- $10+1 buy-in
- Dope yourself up with an optional rebuy or add-on ($10 each limited to one rebuy in the first half hour, add-ons worth 7,000 chips), or try to win it clean!
- Winner Takes All.
I’m also going on a poker trip to London very soon, so if that goes well I might add some value. And if it doesn’t I won’t.
This is likely to take 2-3 hours depending on how many players we get.
Off-season tournaments will attempt to tap into whatever’s going on for inspiration.
Edit: This isn’t *quite* how I wanted to set this tournament up – the original intention was 20k in chips and 3 minute levels but there are software problems currently if you go 10,000 chips or above starting stack. So this is how it’s going to be.
Poker gods frowned on me for celebrating before that Ace came on the river. Oh well.
Next Bother’s Bar Poker Event likely to be August 14th. Keep it in your diaries.

* Heads-up shootout, $10 + $1 entry, Tuesday 14th August 8:30pm UK time
* Three minute levels, 2000 chips.
* Seems to pay top four if four or more people turn up. You could make the money without even playing a card if fewer than eight turn up and the draw goes your way.

Edit: Because the Pokerstars/Full Tilt news is so exciting, if eight or more people turn up to this, I’ll add $20 to the winner’s prize from my own personal non-wealth. If sixteen or more people come and play, I’ll make it a $40 winner bonus.
(The original intention was a heads-up bounty tournament, so the quicker you knock someone out the more “energy” you’d have for the next match. But not on PokerStars home games! Has to be a shoot-out for heads-up. A bounty tournament will be coming in due course.)

Next event is The Christmas Bonus, a $10+$1 unlimited rebuy event. 5000 starting stack, 5 minute levels, 30 minute rebuy period. You can get a 7000 chip add on after that 30 minutes for $10 then it is a straight freezeout. Top 10% prize structure.
