{"id":13656,"date":"2021-06-22T12:31:44","date_gmt":"2021-06-22T11:31:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bothersbar.co.uk\/?p=13656"},"modified":"2021-06-22T12:32:21","modified_gmt":"2021-06-22T11:32:21","slug":"some-new-shows-coming-to-the-bbc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bothersbar.co.uk\/?p=13656","title":{"rendered":"Some new shows coming to the BBC"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>After a tendering process, 30 shows were whittled down to just two, <strong>Bridge of Lies<\/strong> and <strong>The Tournament<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Bridge of Lies<\/em> is most interesting to me here (<em>The Tournament<\/em> is screaming chess clock quiz at me, but I&#8217;ve got nothing to go on than that) as it sounds like a reimagining of STV&#8217;s (and TV3&#8217;s in Ireland) very own <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bothersbar.co.uk\/?p=7930\">Bother&#8217;s Bar sort-of favourite <strong>The Lie<\/strong> with Susan Calman<\/a>, although this sounds like it&#8217;s going to have a bit more physicality, from Broadcast: &#8220;In <strong>Catchphrase<\/strong> producer STV Studios\u2019\u00a0<em>The Bridge of Lies<\/em>, teams of contestants compete for cash by crossing a bridge made up of stepping-stones across the studio floor. Each stepping-stone has a different option, and the players must try to get from A to B by stepping on the truths and avoiding the lies in order to cross safely, or risk falling off the bridge and out of the game.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is really poor quality but it&#8217;s the best I can find. It&#8217;s the Irish version:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"665\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/EOrrOqXIE84?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>There was also a French pilot made with Nagui with an actual inverted pyramid stage which looked like a health and safety nightmare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anyway it might not be anything like that, but it does give us something to post so that&#8217;s nice.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After a tendering process, 30 shows were whittled down to just two, Bridge of Lies and The Tournament.
