{"id":1781,"date":"2010-08-05T19:11:40","date_gmt":"2010-08-05T18:11:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bothersbar.co.uk\/?p=1781"},"modified":"2010-08-05T19:11:40","modified_gmt":"2010-08-05T18:11:40","slug":"product-placement-the-cube-electronic-game","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bothersbar.co.uk\/?p=1781","title":{"rendered":"Product Placement: The Cube Electronic Game"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Thanks to guest reviewer Kieran Joseph Jupe for the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The game stays true to its TV counterpart, which, is in fact, fantastic, and better still, the game boasts \u201950 Electronic and Physical games\u2019, most of which lifted straight from the show with the exception of an odd few for that have been invented (hopefully by the CUBE staff) for use with the items supplied. But what are these items? Well, in total, there is 129 individual pieces, but the most important are obviously, the 1x Electronic Game Device, the 1x \u2018Reducer\u2019 and most importantly&#8230; the actual game cards, and the ominous (and mini) CUBE itself.<\/li>\n<li>So, how does it work, basically, you receive 9 LIFE tokens, one SIMPLIFY token and one TRIAL RUN (which fans of the show will know can only be used after the first game is complete) token. Player(s) then pick a Challenge Card from the pile according to the level (Pile A is for \u00a31K to \u00a310K and B is for \u00a320K plus) but for the sake of useful-ness each card is double sided for more games in one&#8230; game&#8230; Of course, some games will be played on the actual Electronic Device (which, when turned on plays the seriously serious *shortened* version of the theme tune) but some actual require getting up and moving around!<\/li>\n<li>For\u00a0example, one time I played it, I had to play a game called HORIZONTAL, which requires you to&#8230; using a tube (that was built in a certain way before the game) place the ball through the hole in the center, pick it up with only your finger and thumb, stand up, rotate 360 degrees, sit down, and place the tube back onto the cube&#8230; I done it first go, however some games, are not so easy. One actually took all 8 lives I had remaining off me&#8230; after the use of the TRIAL RUN and the SIMPLIFY&#8230; and all it was involved throwing a ball into the cube.<\/li>\n<li>Of course, it says 2-6 players on the box, but I easily can play it on my own, I don\u2019t cheat much. But overall, for \u00a325, it is a whole lot of fun for the family, besides, it\u2019s probably the only time I can say&#8230; \u2018It\u2019s only throwing a ball into a box, Nan, but is it easier&#8230; in the CUBE?\u2019 By the way, the answer to that is NO&#8230; not even with the Reducer off.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So there we are.
