We&#8217;ve never met these people, we try not to be too mawkish.<\/p>\n<p>Fuck that. Tonight I&#8217;m\u00a0crying proper\u00a0tears.<\/p>\n<p>Jacques Antoine represented <strong>everything<\/strong> that is brilliant about the genre and was absolutely the number one influence for me\u00a0in terms of the sorts of shows\u00a0I want to see made. Why be so limiting to a studio when you can have a massive castle,\u00a0or you can be\u00a0chased by a shrieking man, or you could go <em>anywhere in the world. <\/em>Antoine was responsible for\u00a0shows that people didn&#8217;t just like but really<em> loved<\/em> and left an impression.<\/p>\n<p>I can&#8217;t find a full upload (I do have it, I will try and put it up over the weekend somewhere)\u00a0of the first episode of <strong>Les Cles de Fort Boyard<\/strong> so right now this will have to do, it&#8217;s an episode from the very first series with a Polish voiceover:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/hjtYOk7oSZU\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>There is also this interesting video here made in 2009:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/vTVVpdzxdNM\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>I will try and put together a slightly fuller career retrospective over the weekend, including lots of his old studio shows he created from the 70s and 80s.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/tvmag.lefigaro.fr\/programme-tv\/article\/information\/71622\/jacques-antoine-le-createur-de-fort-boyard-est-mort.html\">Jacques Antoine, who died at the age of 88 today.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Normally when a\u00a0someone in the world of gameshows die we&#8217;ve often mentioned it and put a tribute video up.
