Happy New Year to all my readers – the website’s a bit of a loss leader these days for the Discord and the Twitter, but it still exists and has some sort of purpose.

Show Discussion: Loaded in Paradise

Although we understand it will be going out on ITV2 sometime in the future.
This may or may not be any good but the premise sounds quite fun – five pairs running around the Aegean Islands in Greece, one of whom is granted a Golden Credit Card loaded with cash daily so they can have a great time, but they must watch their backs because the other teams will be trying to catch them in order to have the card for themselves. It sounds like the last leg on the final episode will be played for lots of money. It’s Greece Uncovered meets Hunted, basically.

Let’s Party
Alright Gang it’s the Christmas Day rollover Bank Holiday today, so it’s still technically Christmas.
Tonight we’re holding our Annual (I think we’ve done this once before) Bother’s Bar Mario Kart Tournament – open to anyone who wants to play, 8:30pm – 10pm UK. All the deets are in the screenshot, the important thing is the code which is 2205-7284-2539:
As ever I ought to explain instancing – I don’t know how many of us there will be, but it will be a maximum 12 in an ‘instance’, so if you join and there’s fewer than 12 and you find yourself on your own, it might be an idea to quit out and rejoin and hopefully it will add you to the room with everyone else when their race has finished.
Tomorrow night from 9pm we’ll be playing Jackbox – all of 9, maybe some others – in the Discord. Players will be first come first served, you’re not obliged to join in with the voice chat (feel free to mute yourself), I don’t know how well turned out this will be so you may well be playing some games from the audience. This isn’t being streamed to Youtube.

Bother’s Bar Christmas Fun
I don’t think there’s going to be a great deal to discuss over the next week or so (except perhaps the The Traitors final, which you can do in the Discord or for a more permanent presence in the The Traitors Show Discussion post) or The Wheel US which I’m sure will be “unofficially available” in due course. I’ve got some events being lined up in the Discord over the next week-and-a-half or so, why don’t we take a look at them why don’t we?
- Alice in Borderland Series 2 “drops” on Netflix on Thursday 22nd December for all you mystery deathgame fans. We enjoyed series one.
- Christmas Gaz Top Can’t Stop Tournament on BGA – this starts on Thursday night (22nd) for all you fans of the push-your-luck board game Can’t Stop. If you’ve got a Board Game Arena account, there’s a direct link in #boardgames in the Discord to get you in. It’s turn-based rather than live and should keep you going over Christmas.
- Christmas Mario Kart Tournament – Tuesday 27th 8:30-10pm UK. New tracks! BIKES BANNED. Joining details to arrive in due course.
- Christmas Jackbox – Wednesday 28th – 9pm until I’m bored – live in the Discord. This is not, I repeat NOT a rebranding of Bother’s Bar’s Game Night, which is dead.
- Loaded in Paradise – this goes up on ITVX on 28th December before an ITV2 showing next year. This sounds like quite a fun idea at least – couples go on the run, one of them has a Golden Credit Card so they can live it up, everybody else has to try and catch them and steal it.
- The UKGameshows.com/Bother’s Bar Poll Of The Year 2022 from Jan 2nd – where we wrestle with what Loaded in Paradise ought to be eligible for. Incidentally, here’s this year’s list of new formats they’ve collated – is there anything missing?

Show Discussion: That’s My Jam
Saturdays, 9:35pm (and various after that)
BBC1
BBC version of moderately-popular Jimmy Fallon spin-off musical gameshow, filmed in the US and seems to have some reasonable US guest star power to go alongside the UK celebs who will be playing. Mo Gilligan’s hosting, and if the BBC Episode Guide is correct suggests this will be going out at 8pm in the New Year, which means he’d be clashing with himself on The Masked Singer.
In honesty I can’t say I know all that much about it so I look forward to catching up in due course. Let us know what you think in the comments.
It’s Schlag Saturday
