The Million Pound Drop

By | April 8, 2010

Details soon to be released on Endemol’s new Channel 4 show where people stand to win or most probably not win a million quid live on telly. There are both Twitter and Facebook pages for it (very 2008).

The big question is: is it just the same format as ABCs upcoming Downfall, but without the skyscraper gimmick? Come on Endemol, I know you’re reading.

Edit: answer to my own question: probably not, Downfall is Fremantle. That’ll learn me.

It’s BotherSOP Reminder Thursday!

pokertrophy2Hey gang, it’s been a while since the last one but the Bother Series of Poker is back with a vengance for a non-Easter non-special Special this Sunday at 8pm on Full Tilt. You don’t need to be a regular to play for the money on the night, and last time you missed out on TWO exclusive bits of insider gossip we can’t talk about, except for the one about Only Connect being recomissioned. Who knows what exciting hi-jinks will occur this weekend? Will you get the girl, or will you play like one (loose passive normally)?

Speaking of which, I noticed that Five are showing the Partypoker Women’s World Open IV on Wednesday nights, and even better is that Kara Scott who I always liked on Sky Poker has progressed from host to analytical commentator to Jesse May’s colour. Which is nice.

Channel 4 will be ‘doing’ the Full Tilt Poker Lounge in the Summer (beginning June 22nd), which appears to be the UK’s answer to Poker After Dark (five Full Tilt pros staking $20k and an internet qualifier, winner takes all), although it doesn’t sound like it’s going to be a nightly stripped thing whcih is a shame.

Britain’s Got Talent…

…is back Saturday 17th at 8pm for 90 minutes.

I thought that would mean The Whole 19 Yards will be going out at 7pm, then. But hold! Not so, the ITV schedule currently has the best of Harry Hill’s TV Burp on at seven, with “No information avaliable” between 8pm and 10:30pm. Would 9:30pm be a bit late for the family fun of TW19Y? There is also a space between 5:15pm and 6pm that remains unfilled. But that feels a bit early. And it would hilariously be up against Total Wipeout. Hmm.

Divided’s back Tuesday

At 5pm on ITV1. I forgot to add this to the Board of Excitement, which suggests I’m not all that excited about it to be honest. Still, I’d be interested to see if they’ve made any changes from last year’s series.
