Money Tree is an exciting, fun, new primetime gameshow that features a MASSIVE big name star, one you’ve never seen host a UK gameshow… trust us you won’t be disappointed!
The show sees two families go head-to-head over a series of fun trivia rounds. But unlike every other show, the question value will be decided by contestants themselves.
So it they are feeling super confident they could add some big, big money to the tree. Who will win and can they shake a fortune off the Money Tree?
We’re playtesting a few new game show formats on Saturday, 2-6pm at Limehouse Town Hall (although it probably won’t be that long). Travel expenses paid. Please contact tom@tomscott.com for further details.
I might be there. If that’s not reason enough to put yourself forward I don’t know what is.
I appear to have all the lethargy of a cold but with only minor nose-running and sore throat. I’m not sure how good that is.
But something that is quite good (or interesting at least) is The Great Escape, South Korea’s new escape room reality show with some of the people behind the brilliant The Genius and the so-so Society Game.
Here six Korean celebs must work as a team to escape from not only a room but an entire warehouse by solving puzzles and finding secrets. It’s like one big puzzle box, and I get the feeling it’s going to be rather Metroidvania-y. In theory this is a great premise, especially if you, like me, are big fans of the building-as-character concept. However the start is rather slow and revelations probably need to come a bit thicker and faster. Like a lot of Korean reality-variety, the comic interplay between the cast comes across as more important than the situation, for better or worse. I’m intrigued to see how it develops. Keep an eye on the Korean Variety Reddit for details of translations, here’s the back to back ep 1 and 2.
In other news Little Lion have announced they’re doing a new Crystal Maze Live Experience in Shaftsbury Avenue in London. Liam Tate off of Twitter and The Crystal Maze Fan Group Blog have sleuthed that it will be in what was the Golden Nugget Casino building, and is 21,000 square foot.
So, talking about the Cyberdrome Crystal Maze has reminded me that the hardware was basically pc based. I still dabble within mame circles and I know people are interested in preserving that kind of project as well as straight arcades. I guess what I’m saying is if any of the Bar patrons kept any of that stuff and can hook me up I’d love to get wheels in motion on trying to make a virtual version.
Well I didn’t see this coming, but then on the other hand I don’t see why not. Alan Carr doing another Fremantle reboot that’s a “special”. You can click for bigger but in truth that’s a pretty lousy font being used.
TL;DR they’re recording an episode of Play Your Cards Right on October 29th, it’s a non-transmittable pilot, couples can register interest by e-mailing playyourcardsright@talkback.co.uk with names, ages, contact number and a recent picture. Good luck!
We went to see the last PYCR pilot they did in 2011 with Vernon Kay and you can read about that here.
So whilst exploring Saturday morning telly for Game Night last night I came across an episode of Ghost Train’sSkull (or at least the second half of it), surely the only kids game where not only is violence encouraged but mandated.
Saturday 29th September, 9:25pm UK, Here and on Youtube.

Right, at the beginning of the week I had posts lined up all the way to Thursday, but because I’m getting old I forgot what I was going to write on Wednesday and yesterday. Probably something deeply important.
But not as important as THIS! Game Night 11 sees your favourite Game Night panellists (and some newbies) take on Team Audience across the Jackbox Party Pack Games suite all to earn some sort of advantage for the Arbitrary Final. As ever YOU are an important part of the evening playing along and providing judgement, and with Team Audience so close to winning the night last time will this time be the one where the collective beats the individuals? Who will get their automatic spot for BBGNXII: Champignon of Champignons on October 20th, the weekend of Jackbox 5’s release?
To join in make sure you’re watching our live stream (which will be here but I recommend watching it on the actual Youtube site for a lower delay) and log in to each game by putting your name and room code to jackbox.tv.
This episode one audience member with a microphone will get to play as The Voice Of The Audience in the high-octane skill-based endgame. So if you’ve got a microphone and can stand the pressure of representing millions of people, and you’ve got a Twitter Account so I can send a Hangout link, let me know in the Youtube Chat or on Twitter #bbgnxi and I’ll pick someone arbitrarily.
