SdH Bonusrunde 4/11/17

By | November 5, 2017

We know not all of you can listen along with the Raab/Star/Henssler Watchalongs, so as ADDITIONAL CONTENT I’m going to do rough edits of the various special events our commentators come up with during the adverts and boring bits.

This episode we have Catchbusters with Dan Peake and Dealing With David as provided by David Bodycombe.

One ‘n’, two ‘s’s, Stefen Henssler is BACK for a second night of SdH where a member of the public will take on the celebrity chef over fifteen events to win the rollover jackpot which this episode stands at €500,000.

And that means we’re back as well providing commentary, entertainment and gossip throughout the show’s lengthy running time. Do come along and keep us company, we’ll be reading your tweets all night.

And feel free to dip in and out, on previous form the show will still be going on past midnight. The musical turns on offer are Sunrise Avenue and Alina.

Our commentary stream link will appear here – live from 7:15 to around midnight.
This stream is commentary only. You will need to have a naughty stream running at the same time for the visuals. We are likely to be about 15-20 seconds behind the visual stream (and about a full minute behind if you’re watching an actual satellite feed), sorry.

To watch it would be useful to download Opera and sign up for ProSieben’s catch-up service – it’s pretty simple to work out, don’t click the box if you don’t want e-mail messages. You will need to put in a proper e-mail because it will send you a confirmation. Go into your settings (Cog top right of Speed Dial screen, then bottom) – go to Privacy settings, click on Enable VPN. Go to Pro7 stream, click on blue VPN symbol in address bar, turn it on for Germany. Hassle but should work!

Back up – best in Opera or Firefox. Best with ad-block.

Dr Gameshow

By | November 1, 2017

Possibly of interest (although not possibly to everybody’s taste), Earwolf has just launched a podcast called Dr Gameshow, which sounds like it started out as a local radio show in New York and has found a new home under a specialist podcast wing.

In it, comics Jo Firestone and Manolo Moreno are joined by improv comics (of varying levels of fame) and call-in guests to play largely silly games submitted by listeners in order to win a custom magnet. I’ve only listened to episode one thus far, but it was loose and silly and quite funny – the antithesis of NPR’s Ask Me Another’s smugness really.

It seems to come out twice a week at an hour a go, you can subscribe in your podcast player of choice or you can listen on the website. It started only last week.

I’ve also started listening to Pappy’s Flatshare Slamdown, a mere six years after it first started. It’s alright.

Happy Halloween Day!

By | October 31, 2017

I’m out trick or treating tonight (well actually I’m playing cards) so I won’t be able to watch the Release the Hounds Celebrity TOWIE Halloween Special live unfortunately but will look forward to catching up on in the next few days. It’s a two-hour long spooktacular (it says here) extravaganza as FOUR members of the TOWIE cast take part in horror filled games and outrunning a pack of dogs for charity, this time hosted by modern-day Noel Edmonds Matt Edmondson. That’s on ITV2 from 9pm. It’s not getting a proper show discussion post because this is a one-off, the series will air in the future.

Meanwhile it’s Schlag den Henssler this Saturday from 7:15pm, a member of the public takes on Stefen Henssler across 15 games for €500,000 LIVE and as ever we’re intending to provide a Youtube commentary with various fun and games. Do join us.

The Chase is on… Android now

By | October 27, 2017

I wouldn’t expect much in terms of NEWS and OPINION this weekend because I’ll be spending most of it playing Mario Odyssey, in between things like “work” and “seeing my Mum”. Don’t forget the clocks go back Saturday night/Sunday morning.

However we mentioned there’s a new Ultimate version of the very good The Chase app recently released on iOS, it’s been bought to my attention it’s out on Android now as well.

Next week there’s all sorts of excitement: new runs of Tenable and the Halloween return of Release the Hounds with Matt Edmondson (which is two hours long, which is brave). And it all ends with another live evening of Schlag den Henssler next Saturday night.
