It’s Action Adventure Early Week on Bother’s Bar:
- Drop Zone – Steve Jones, eight teams and lots of helicopters. (3:35pm, Sunday, BBC1)
- The Cube – It’s a celebrity special! Kelly Holmes and Jenni Falconer take on The Cube. (7pm, Sunday, ITV1)
- The X Factor – This is might be it for Wagner this week I reckon. (8pm, Sunday, ITV1)
- Mission Milennium – new action adventure from France, although I gather it wasn’t very successful. Also not from the Adventure Line stable. (1:04pm, Monday, TV5, also repeated late Tuesday))
- Only Connect – Another quarter-final, Radio Addicts vs Brit Poppers (8:30pm, Monday, BBC4)
- Premier League Poker – Second match, part one. Phil Hellmuth’s in this one. (0:40am, Monday night/Tuesday morning, C4)
- The Apprentice – Go to Germany and sell crisps. (9pm, Wednesday, BBC1)
- The Challenge: Cutthroat – I’ll put a rip of the theme tune up here some time this week, as it is this year’s best reality show theme tune. (Wednesday, MTV)
There will be a show discussion post for Drop Zone on Sunday. And some more iPad reviews sometime this week if I’ve got some time.
This week’s UC is an all-Cambridge affair: Peterhouse v St John’s.
Taking too long on their bonuses cost St John’s dearly against Merton Oxford on 11 October as they lost by five points, 180-175. However, they sorted this issue out against St Andrews two weeks later, en route to a 225-165 win. Their Canadian contestant, Mark Wilson, did most of the work in these two matches.
Peterhouse didn’t have any trouble with their bonuses against last week’s losers Exeter on 26 July, getting 28 out of 42 correct as they won 265-165. As well as that, Ben Slingo picked up eight starters.
Though St John’s have played a game more, one would have to fancy Peterhouse after such an impressive performance against Tim Abbott’s team.
I will be thoroughly disappointed if Wagner goes… as I am scared that it will mean the end of Wagbo.
WAGBO!
It is the last TV Burp of the series next Saturday so having Wagner going tonight would be all the better for Mr. Hill’s final show.
Ah yes, this is true.
Is there any reason that they run such a short series of TV Burp?
There is another series in Jan/Feb. TV Burp produces two series back to back.
Before that we have a Christmas special and a review of the year before New Year. Other than that they’ll wheel out the Best of TV Burp in the meantime.
Charity Cube has every level as a safety net. Which is a good idea. On the flipside they haven’t mentioned Simplify yet, haven’t they?
Oh wait, there we are. And there’s a Trial Run. Which is a bit pointless, no?
Phillip said only £1,000 is guaranteed once you complete the first game.
And now he’s mentioned it. So there we are.
No, Ant and Dec, it’s NOT the first time a celebrity has flat-out refused to do the trial. Kerry Katona in 2004 didn’t.
I think I need to have a warm drink and a bit of a breather after the amount of shouting at the screen I was doing in this week’s Only Connect. Did far better than I usually do on it.
