The Floor Is Orange Water

By | June 15, 2020

Floor is Lava starts on Netflix on Friday, which as far as we can work out is just the Museum from Fort Boyard, a three minute semi-regular event, turned into an entire series. Still, might be fun though.

We quite liked Rutledge Wood on Hyperdrive, and given he was a host on the US version of Top Gear now appears to be gunning for the role of The US Richard Hammond.

Edit: I thought this was going to be a pretty boring week, but in the last hour we’ve had ITV are bringing back The Cube and Cyril Feraud’s got a character job as a Ken-like doll gameshow host on Fort Boyard this year. Amazing. Edit Edit: And S3 of The Circle.

Bother’s Bar Game Night 19

By | June 12, 2020
Bruce Willis or Vince Clarke?

Saturday, 9pm-11:30-ish (UK)
Here and on Youtube

Rejoice! As it’s time for another one of Bother’s Bar’s irregular Game Nights, join us as a panel of seven vies against each other and the watching audience for the title of Bother’s Bar Game Night Champion, something nobody can take away from them.

As ever we’ll be playing the best of the Jackbox suite of games live and interactive so get your second screens ready to playalong with our Youtube stream. I can also reveal I’ll be requiring A Voice of the Audience on TWO separate occasions, one for a game of Push the Button and one for the very exciting Arbitrary Final.

I’ll also be reading the best of the Youtube Chat, so be sure to join in there as well.

Stoppit and Tidyup

Tonight’s excitement is the premiere of Don’t, part of ABC’s Summer Fun and Games in the US. It’s hosted by Adam Scott and produced by Ryan Reynolds, off of films. The US is going through a bit of a green patch of physical shows (comedy or otherwise) right now – we’re still enjoying Holey Moley and Ultimate Tag (we’ve not kept up with The Titan Games).

Extra interest here as it was suggested in a previous Stool Pigeon chat that this might be a show the BBC were thinking about piloting with David Tennant, although we’ve got little concrete evidence of that.

Bother’s Bar Game Night Panellists Wanted

By | June 8, 2020

This Saturday from 9-11:30-ish is the 19th running of Bother’s Bar’s Game Night here and on Youtube, and in my head I’ve got an incredible Arbitrary Final that’s even better than The Road to Sortition which I didn’t think would be possible. I’m after panellists to go up against each other and the audience, and at TWO points I’ll need Voices Of The Audience as TWO games will require it, so even if you don’t make the panel you might be able to come on in voice and represent the Team Audience anyway.

If you’re interested leave a message here or drop me a DM on Twitter. I already have some panellists but I need a few more – everyone will get a yes or no response by Thursday, hopefully. Remember there are a number of considerations when it comes to putting a panel together, so don’t be too upset if you don’t get selected.

Panellist or Voice of The Audience, we will need to be Discord friends as all games on the night will be played without broadcast delay through there. I am BrigBother#9399.

Incidentally – I started working on a project converting old BBGN eps with the old scoring system to the new one for Best Players Of All Time purposes, got about halfway and then put it on the back burner (it’s not nearly as simple as “multiply all the numbers by 20”, alas). I’ll try and get it all done in the next few weeks, for those that are interested.

Round Brit-Dan Quiz II

By | June 7, 2020

If you missed our Schlag den Star Watchalong last night you will have missed Daniel Peake’s second edition of the Round Brit-Dan Quiz, based on the long running radio show of a similar title. But never fear! I have clipped it all out for you. Who will prevail: Team 1 or Team B?
