Smart minds required for runthrough

I’ve got a letter here from TV’s David Bodycombe:

EDIT: David thanks you for your interest, places have been filled.

Go to it, punters.

In other news it also looks like Cash Trapped might be looking for contestants although this doesn’t as yet appear on the ITV Be On TV page, so make of that what you will.

Edit: A lot of people seem surprised by this, but the reality is CT was doing almost 2m an episode as a Summer Chase replacement across four weeks. I don’t think its return was ever really in doubt, the issue was finding time in Brad’s hectic schedule (between the seven-eight months Doctor Who takes and the three plus months The Chase takes) to make more I suspect.

Fingers on Buzzers

By | September 10, 2018

This week’s excitement is that there’s a new podcast launching on Friday! Fingers on Buzzers features The Chase‘s Jenny Ryan and comic Lucy Porter discuss all things quiz with interviews promised with quiz talent and production.

The feed should already be up on your podcast provider of choice. You can follow them on Twitter @FingersBuzzers, and the website is fingersbuzzers.com.

In other news, the Taskmaster book is alright but feels a bit… lightweight? Was hoping for and expecting more behind the scenes stuff I think. Also a large amount of the tasks seem to involve defacing the book. Will be intrigued to know how many people turn up for the Taskmaster tour task suggested.

Go Capitalism!

The more observant of you may notice that there’s now an Amazon ad in the sidebar which I’m trying on a trial basis. I know Amazon is not very woke and whatever, but anything that can be raised gets put towards hosting costs/cinnamon buns/kebabs/Jackbox installments/etc.

Basically, if you click the ad and then buy something I get a small cut (and you should expect direct links to products here to be affiliated to me). If you don’t want to use Amazon that’s absolutely fine and have a nice day, but if you are then it’d be a way of tipping me at no extra cost to you.

Speaking of Jackbox, keep September 29th free for the next exciting Game Night, more details in due course.

Show Discussion: Taskmaster S7

By | September 4, 2018

Wednesdays, 9pm,
Dave and UKTV Play

I think Taskmaster‘s the only show we’ve bothered to give a show discussion post to seven different series now and here we are again as Rhod Gilbert, Kerry Godliman, Phil Wang, James Acaster and Jessica Knappett compete in ridiculous tasks over the next ten weeks.

In related news, Alex Horne did a very interesting Ask Me Anything on Reddit on Tuesday, including the revelation that We Need Answers might be due a comeback.

The Taskmaster book is out on Thursday 6th, £7.99 on Kindle and (right now) £9.35 hardback on Amazon.
