If I’ve got this right, this should theoretically be a link to watch: http://www.justin.tv/xstreamx24 (Apologies if it’s not, it’s my first time searching for a feed on my own.)
And we’re live. It appears Raab’s been training since last episode “incognito” (ie wearing a gorilla suit while playing tennis, “Scream” mask while at the gym, etc.).
Also, it looks like they’ve added more orange to some set pieces such as the marquee signs and whatnot. I missed the last episode, was this around last time?
The first candidate is Alex, who appears to be a fresh-from-university elementary school teacher who likes water skiing.
Candidate two is Tekin, who I think is apparently a judge of some sort and a soccer buff. Or at least that’s the gist of what I’m seeing, my connection is kinda ridiculous right now.
Candidate three is Chris, a DJ and music producer who is also a tennis-er.
Candidate four is Ria, a med student, who also appears to be a tennis-er, and though I’m really in no position to judge, a more intense one than Chris. Bonus points for training with the Blamieron oder Cassieron (sp) home game.
Candidate five is Till, a pilot who likes weight training (like everyone else) and riding his bicycle. I’m betting it’s not going to be him.
While I’m usually terrible at predicting these things, my money’s on Ria.
Moat knots in one minute, it appears. The rope is pretty thick, so making passes through itself gets hard as time goes on.
Ah, my bad, it’s a minute to tie a bunch of knots, then they swap ropes and the first to untie their opponent’s knots wins. Ria’s ball is pretty easy for Stefan to take apart, game one goes to Stefan.
Yay, I got one Rowan Atkinson! It’s a pretty easy run up until the seventh question (Stefan up 6-0), but then they seem to throw a bunch of harder faces into the mix. After about five no-answers, Stefan finally takes it 7-0. It’s now 3-0 in favor of Stefan.
Game 3, Dribbeln. They have a bit of a chat about Ria’s tennis experience, but also how it could refer to basketball, but first a plug for the car competition and a commercial break.
Just curious, does anyone have access to Betfair or whatever odds website? (It seems to be blocked in the US.) I’m curious how things are looking for Ria at this point.
And it appears to be a soccer ball. They’re going down their own lanes, weaving in and out of colored poles. best of five heats, if I understood that right.
At the same time, Ria and Stefan have to dribble a soccer ball around the obstacles to the end of the course and back. Whoever wins 3 races out of 5 wins.
Ria trips up in the same way Stefan did last heat, so Stefan takes heat two. They’re neck and neck on heat three at the halfway point, and seem to alternate errors on the way back, but Ria takes it by about two poles.
Game 4–Papierkorb, or wastepaper basket. What the players have to do is crumple up sheets of paper and toss them into a wastebasket from 10 or so feet away.
Both seem to be going underhanded, which is odd to me (I’m an overhander when it comes to trash shots). Also weird: The commentator seems to make a random grunting noise, which Stefan happily mocks.
Stefan sinks the seventh shot, so Ria’s in trouble. I’ll say this much for Ria, she’s consistently off by about six inches, just never in the same direction.
Not entirely sure what’s going on here… They seem to be given pairs of football players, and have to assign odds of some sort to the match-ups. Or perhaps they’re predicting the scores, I’m not sure. Actually, that’d make more sense, since they have odds of X:0. No results as for the accuracy of the guesses seem to have been revealed yet, so I’m not sure where this is leading.
Stefan and Ria must guess the full time score from today’s Bundesliga matches. As with Lawro’s predictions on the BBC Sport website. Guessing the winning team wins one point, getting the result spot on is awarded three points.
Okay, they’re revealing the answers now. It looks like the point goes not necessarily to the correct answer, but the closer answer… No, maybe not. The scoring here is weird. I can’t even begin to explain it.
Game 6 is Axtwerfen–“Ax Throwing”. They have to throw axes at a bull’s-eye. One point for the outer ring, 2 for the next one in, 3 for the middle ring, 4 for the fourth, and 8 for the bull’s-eye.
Ria’s sixth shot looks like a bullseye, and it would be if the middle of the axehead counted, but the professional rules it a four-pointer, as both ends of the axe were outside the target.

Blamieren oder Kassieren, I think it is.
And the winner is… Ria!
Oh good – a Frau for a change…
Game 1 – Knoten
And it involves ropes! Excellent.
Moat knots in one minute, it appears. The rope is pretty thick, so making passes through itself gets hard as time goes on.

Game 2, Wer ist Das?
Name the people by the photos.

Stefan pitches a shutout, 7-0. Amazingly neither player recognizes William Shatner or Sigmund Freud.
Game 3, Dribbeln. They have a bit of a chat about Ria’s tennis experience, but also how it could refer to basketball, but first a plug for the car competition and a commercial break.
Game 3 is Dribbling, and they’ll play it after a commercial.
Just curious, does anyone have access to Betfair or whatever odds website? (It seems to be blocked in the US.) I’m curious how things are looking for Ria at this point.
In decimal odds she’s currently at 5, giving her about a 20% chance of winning
And it appears to be a soccer ball. They’re going down their own lanes, weaving in and out of colored poles. best of five heats, if I understood that right.
An early error by Stefan gives Ria the first heat.
And they switch lanes, and Stefan’s takes some clothes off. Now this is television.
At the same time, Ria and Stefan have to dribble a soccer ball around the obstacles to the end of the course and back. Whoever wins 3 races out of 5 wins.

Ouch! Ria knocks over a pole right off the bat in heat four, so it’s automatically awarded to Stefan. 2-2.
Heat 4–Ria knocks over a pole, so that’s a foul! Stefan ties it up. It all comes down to this.
And Stefan takes the final heat, with Ria slipping up several times. The score is now 6-0 Stefan.
Game 4, Papierkorb, or “trash”. It looks like a ream of paper, a trash can set up some distance away… I’m guessing it’s office basketball?
Game 4–Papierkorb, or wastepaper basket. What the players have to do is crumple up sheets of paper and toss them into a wastebasket from 10 or so feet away.
Most of ten wins, it looks like.
Both seem to be going underhanded, which is odd to me (I’m an overhander when it comes to trash shots). Also weird: The commentator seems to make a random grunting noise, which Stefan happily mocks.
Stefan sinks the first point on his fourth go.
Stefan sinks the seventh shot, so Ria’s in trouble. I’ll say this much for Ria, she’s consistently off by about six inches, just never in the same direction.
Ria misses her ninth shot, which gives Stefan the automatic win. 10-0 Stefan
Ria doesn’t seem to be very good at anything they’ve played so far, does she? 10-0, Stefan.
I think this is the third female contender the viewers have chosen in 25 shows. The two previous contenders failed to beat Raab.
Just seen a promo to remind me and you that Schlag den Star returns on Friday at 7.15pm (two hours) for a four week run.
That was me.
Ooh, Schlag den Star Friday night.
Game 5, Fussball-Toto, “football pools”
I guess they’re guessing the final scores of a series of soccer games, and whoever’s right more often wins.
Not entirely sure what’s going on here… They seem to be given pairs of football players, and have to assign odds of some sort to the match-ups. Or perhaps they’re predicting the scores, I’m not sure. They were all games from the 2000/01 Bundesliga season
Okay, they’re revealing the answers now. It looks like the point goes not necessarily to the correct answer, but the closer answer… No, maybe not. The scoring here is weird. I can’t even begin to explain it.
1 point for right winners, 2 point for right winners and winning margin, 3 points for exactly right score.
Is it? Because I thought they both got three points for their 3-1 guess when the real score ended up being 3-0.
Strike that, maybe they both got three points in a one-plus-two combination, I can’t remember now. Too many numbers flying around.
It appears to be 6-6 after “regulation play”, so they’re now doing tiebreaker questions.
They just can’t seem to break this tie!
Stefan won somehow, with a correct guess of 2:1 over 1:2, with the answer being 3:0. Go fig. 15-0 Stefan.
Game 6, Ax throwing.
Stefan takes it–15-0 is the score now.
Game 6 is Axtwerfen–“Ax Throwing”. They have to throw axes at a bull’s-eye. One point for the outer ring, 2 for the next one in, 3 for the middle ring, 4 for the fourth, and 8 for the bull’s-eye.
Why do I get the strange feeling this will end badly?
Unrelated, the Canadian professional ax thrower they brought in sounds really funny speaking German.
It appears to be seven frames of two throws each (or only one if the first sticks). After two frames, Stefan’s up 8-4.
Sorry, the first frame just had a practice throw attached, it’s only one throw per frame after that.
And it’s eight frames, I can’t count.
Stefan’s third throw lands in the three-point zone, which inexplicably starts to bleed some white fluid.
Come on, Ria! Now’s your chance! Hit that bull’s eye! Ooh, close. But 4 points is always 4 points.
Ria’s sixth shot looks like a bullseye, and it would be if the middle of the axehead counted, but the professional rules it a four-pointer, as both ends of the axe were outside the target.
11-11 after seven frames…
Tie score after 7 innings!
Stefan sticks a 4, and the target is now bleeding red?
