The Board of Excitement is stuff I’m looking forward to this week. I forgot to do it yesterday.
- Big Brother US (Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday CBS) – well that shocking twist lasted long, didn’t it? The saboteur twist might have been fun, but it was also a bit too stage managed for my liking – wouldn’t it have been more fun just to let the housema…sorry, house guests discover the food cupboard had been padlocked, rther than have it spelled out for thick people by an electronically enhanced voiced mystery silhouette on the big screen?
- Fort Boyard 2010 ep 3 (Saturday, France 2, Monday, The internet) – not seen episode 2 yet.

Well here we are at episode two, the first one split the fanbase quite considerably. What will tonight have in store?
Several new things promised tonight if last week’s preview was anything to go by, including the welcome return after an eighteen-year sabbatical for Ball On A Plank! Brilliant.
Tangentally, Mission Milennium started on France 3 last week, although I’ve not been able to get the video for it working.

It’s basically Talking Telephone Numbers with Stephen Mulhern (he’s a magician, you see) but you only need to match two of six with your telephone number to be elegible to play for the £250,000 jackpot, although by the sounds of it there’s a significant chance of walking away with nothing. It’s what feelgood Saturday night entertainment is all about!
In fairness, having joked about having to be really unlucky to not be able to call a premium rate number to fill ITV’s coffers, you can enter online for free. Is this the “welcome return” to variety on Saturday nights we have apparently all been waiting for? We will find out in due course. Old-skool!
Show Discussion: Odd One In
Bradley Walsh hosts a big Saturday night entertainment show that appears to be a mixture of I’ve Got a Secret and Tell the Truth, where Peter Andre and Jason Manford play against a team of other celebs (in the first show it’s Lawrence Llewelyn-Bowen and Katherine Kelly from Coronation Street) in working out who in a line-up has an unusual talent or story. Old-skool!
It’s Spoilt For Choice Saturday!
Saturday night is very much gameshow night in TV land this evening. Interesting new shows will get their own seperate posts, but you’ve got the choice of:
- 101 Ways to Leave a Gameslow (7pm, BBC1)
- Odd One In (7:15pm ITV1)
- Magic Numbers (8pm, ITV1)
- Fort Boyard (7:35pm UK time, France 2 and online Monday probably)
As ever, I’ll probably be watching them on catch-up, but feel free to post your fascinating opinions.
