Board of Excitement 18th-24th July 2010

By | July 19, 2010

The Board of Excitement is stuff I’m looking forward to this week. I forgot to do it yesterday.

  • Big Brother US (Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday CBS) – well that shocking twist lasted long, didn’t it? The saboteur twist might have been fun, but it was also a bit too stage managed for my liking – wouldn’t it have been more fun just to let the housema…sorry, house guests discover the food cupboard had been padlocked, rther than have it spelled out for thick people by an electronically enhanced voiced mystery silhouette on the big screen?
  • Fort Boyard 2010 ep 3 (Saturday, France 2, Monday, The internet) – not seen episode 2 yet.

I didn’t know this until just now, but I just noticed that loads of Battle Dome has been put on YouTube. So bad it’s brilliant.

I quite liked some of the games, but the presentation totally sabotaged itself. Presumably (?) it was trying to be a darker and edgier version of Gladiators, but it was so absurdly over the top it was impossible to take seriously.

Uni Chal this week: Balliol Oxford v Queens’ Cambridge.

Both colleges are making their fourth appearance in the Paxman Era. Queens’ last one was the Gail Trimble Series; Balliol’s last was considerably longer ago, in 2004/5, when they reached the semi-finals.

Balliol also make it two shows running that an institution associated with Ian Bayley has appeared.

Wipeout back to two new episodes this week, then none next week. Don’t you just love US scheduling!

news from Italy: pilots for Divided and Have I Got News For You will be taped this week.

one of them could replace Affari Tuoi, if the ratings are low again.

Divided host appears to be Pupo
