YOU wanted it, WE wanted it…

Thanks to Daniel Peake for alerting us to this on Twitter. Hot on the heels of the very successful Crystal Maze Live Experience, and the much less successful Hunted Experience comes the one the world was crying out for, the Monopoly Live Experience.

Global play and entertainment company, Hasbro Inc., are excited to announce a new partnership with international theatre producer Selladoor Worldwide to adapt Hasbro’s iconic brand, MONOPOLY, into a fantastic, immersive experience. Due to open at a secret location in London in 2020, the MONOPOLY experience is expected to incorporate a 75-minute segment featuring challenges for teams to complete together in order to move along the MONOPOLY ‘board’ and buy property.

That secret location is bound to be the old Angel Crystal Maze building isn’t it? Anyway we’re not sure we can quite see this capturing the imagination. We’re intrigued by the “challenges” on offer – coming second in a beauty contest? Assessing street repairs? Stealing money from the bank?

Hopefully you can get ten pounds off on your birthday. We look forward to reinstating the old “60 minutes, fifty quid” joke for a new generation of Live Experiences.

Selladoor aren’t a joke company by the way, even though it looks like a take off of Celador. If this is sucessful they’re hoping to do a number of Hasbro experiences. The mind Boggles.

Could be a retirement gig for Stu Francis, Peter Simon, Steve Johnson and other long-term residents of Dungungin.

Well… one one hand, this could be surrealy interesting…. i assume their going for a crystal maze type adventure format for this “experience” (could i describe it as that? yeah, lets go with that) in witch case ill follow it and pray for a review (Cuz im a bloody yank and its 2019 and little lion STILL havent opened up a US maze for some reason, especially with the nick version incoming VERY soon) and perhaps if its successful, we could get a cluedo experience down the road, and by god that is pretty much the other board game that can only be adapted into a format like this (BTW, when is boyard land coming out, its october and they promised this fall that they would premiere.)

Part of me suspects that this is a backdoor pilot of sorts to a hasbro streaming service, they did launch a TV channel in the states for a bit

Don’t know about this one, but I always thought that a Mario Party type of thing could work well as an experience- use a virtual board where they move, and then after every turn they go to an area and play a mini-game for points or advantages (or to avoid disadvantages), some all-for-one, some in teams, some 1 v the others, etc…

        Took me a while to figure out that card game- but it was a blackjack variant (it only used a 32-card deck 7-Ace. 7,8,9,and 10 were face value, Jack-1, Queen-2, King-3, Ace-1 or 11. I’ve seen a 36-card version before using 6-Ace; 6,7,8,9,10- face value, J-2, Q-3, K-4, A-1 or 11)..
