Incidentally…

After Million Pound Drop (The) on Channel 4 this evening, there’s Big Brother: The Inside Story on E4 which might be quite interesting. Might.

EDIT: Enjoyed this by the way. BB’s biggest problem these days, for me, is that it’s too much like work – an hour a night for three months? No thanks.

Piss easy question about the politicians just now. So easy, even a 5 year old could get it correct. Endemol must be desperate for some winners!

The first couple of Millionaire questions are normally quite easy too. The river question was tougher but fairly common knowledge to be honest.

I don’t think this is a real couple. They don’t seem real. Probably employees from the talent agency that Endemol uses.

A lot of players entered auditions as a single player and were told to bring another person later – Could of been the guy bringing the girl?

I’m starting to think how tough this quiz is because most of the questions involve knowing something about most of the answers (especially all the chronological questions)

This is going to be an anti-climax. If they win, it’ll only be for £25k which isn’t much in the scheme of things!

If they seriously do win £25k it would be hilarious. The only couple to win anything so far, and it’s the least they CAN win.

With just one day left, imagine if no one actually wins any money. I think there could be a backlash of some sort from some disgruntled viewers who might complain to Ofcom, even though they’ll have no right to.

But in all seriousness, not having a winner will not be good for the show IMO.

Just wanted to say what a fantasic bit of casting the female chaser is. Not only is she very clever, but has that tough school teacher personality the fits the show to a tea.

I said earlier there was the feeling someone will win tonight and Cambridge pair should’ve won but still lost on potentially the easiest question througout the evening. I know if they choose the Lake District it would be only £25,000 but they would be credited the first to beat the show.

If nobody does win come tomorrow night then the game show payout puts The Chase to shame.

people are gonna get annoyed by the lack of winners. there has to be a balance between the winners and losers but its been just losers so far. viewers will get fed up of the show if people keep losing.

The weird thing is that the show has been consistant with ratings this week.

      Monday – 2,164,100
      Tuesday – 2,079,700
      Wednesday – 2,348,700
      Thursday – 2,316,600

      This time last week

      Monday – Derren Brown – 1.86m
Tuesday – Our Daughter, the Mermaid – 1.52m
      Wednesday – Desperate Housewives – 1.1m

It’s new at the moment so I’m not surprised ratings are holding up. But people will eventually get fed off… i reckon tonight’s show will have had lower ratings and saturday wont do well because everyone will be watching either eurovision or itv.

Also, I know quite a few people who are watching because they believe the contestants on MPD are Big Brother housemates. I told them they’re not, but they’re still watching. Once they find out the two shows aren’t linked, they’ll stop watching.

    Daytime ratings from yesterday (Thursday).

    The Weakest Link – 1.53m (12.7%)
    The Chase – 1.21m (10.7%)
    Deal or No Deal – 1.56m (17.6%)
Celebrity Come Dine With Me – 1.54m (13.4%)

DoND continues well but a repeat of Come Dine With Me actually won the 5pm slot by 10,000 viewers.

Anyone with Sky Movies can see the movie version of The Phone, 12 Rounds from today. It is also available on Sky Anytime for those who have it.

That nice young Mad Cap’n Tom is far too polite to promote his own work here, but his #eurovision analysis tool is a global version of the Eurovision voting malarky that takes place here and scads of other places. (Tom, if you read this, does it cope with non-integer marks out of ten?)

Quite a few people where I work have each-way bets on Turkey for tonight at 22/1 to 33/1 after a hot trip from, ahem, oneurope_live, and it’s come in to generally 10s since then…

Odd thought… as much as we’ve complained about the weird trap door design, it’s not really caused any problems so far. That is, we’ve not seen any money flipped onto the ground when a door opens yet. Maybe they really did know what they were doing when they designed them?

I think the point is, it looks stupid when the contestants try and put on more than two levels of cash. It’s fine later on, though.
