I will never understand Netflix’s marketing and release strategy when it comes to second/third series shows like this. There’s absolutely tonnes of examples of shows that have died because they’ve given them absolutely no promotion whatsoever. I wonder if half the time it’s just some internal politics things.

I’m really intrigued to see how they handle the third series, Squid Game US starts filming next year but could be years away which is a pity as it might be a useful thing to hang off of (and there’s certainly no guarantee of Squid Game US’ success, it feels like everyone’s basically done with it), so are they just going to put it out in the middle of nowhere?

And $4.56m is “lore” now, so it’s difficult to reduce the absolutely massive prize and player pool without everyone going “well that’s shit”.

I don’t think there was anything especially wrong with this series compared to the last one – maybe sna… sorry, chutes and ladders was the only game that *felt* large scale, and saving Red Light Green Light as a surprise final meant you couldn’t really use the large doll in your promotions. I probably wouldn’t have opened with half the people getting killed in a counting game. But other than that.

I saw this on an ITV trailer earlier this evening. From the 8th of December for 5 nights, The 1% Club is doing a Rollover with £500k up for grabs!
