I think this is going to be one of those quiet weeks where not much goes on.

The Marriage Ref with Dermot starts filming Wednesday night, and on Wednesdays and Thursdays for the next few weeks, if you go along do let us know if it’s any good.

This Saturday and Sunday is the Wembley Arena stage of Red or Black and I’m hoping to get into the audience for one of them. I know of several people who have been selected to play but can’t decide if they can be bothered to make the trip, so I’m intrigued to see what sort of contingency plans they have if nobody turns up.

Er, a new season of Lingo starts on US GSN tonight, in the past they’ve put full episodes up to watch on the website, maybe they’ll do the same for this one.

The new Lingo should be in the same category as Win Lose or Draw Late, but that would be insulting to the latter.

Idle albeit uninspired discussion topic: With Nintendo’s announcement of Wii U, featuring controllers that have their own built in private screen, what game show ports would you like to be made for the new system? I’d think a party version of PokerFace would be sorta fun.

I’d like to see The Weakest Link or Divided on the console.

Poker Face would be fun, as would a better-implemented version of Golden Balls, by being able to see your back-row balls on the controller screen. The Wii had its own version, but all you apparently did was the voting-off part and picking the balls in the Bin Or Win part.

I also think Duel would work well, using the touchscreen to place your chips with the question and answers on the TV. Then after both players are locked in, the table would appear on the TV to show each players’ answers.

All this is irrelevant anyway, as it sounds like each Wii U is only going to have one main controller anyway, with other people using Wii motionplus’.

I’m lead to believe (By Serebii) that that’s already been debunked. But his information might be wrong, of course.

I found this on You Tube today. It is a clip where Sooty & Co did their spoofs of The Krypton Factor (with Gordon Burns doing a voiceover) and Sweep as a Mastermind contestant. Very funny.

Alright, well I’ve just watched New Lingo. I don’t hate it or anything, but the clues are pointless. I don’t love the scoring system, but if they are going to keep it I would favour the team in control going into the break staying in control rather than automatically going to the team that is behind, otherwise it’s totally worth good teams throwing it until then. I don’t love the racks, far too overblown for the purpose they serve. Bonus game is OK, although the lack of drawing element is silly.

    Basically: meh.
