I’ve just noticed several referrals for Bother’s Bar Poker.

Yes, it’s likely The Bother Series of Poker 2011 will be going ahead in the new year. Details in the next few weeks, first game likely to be 9th or 16th January. Haven’t decided how much I’m stumping up yet.

Hi! Here is a post for you all to tell me exactly how well Million Dollar Money Drop works/rates.

Being a very good friend to the TV industry, I couldn’t possibly comment on ways you may be able to watch the show in the UK  for fear of harming the livelihoods of the sorts of people who make it, obviously.

In other news: Survivor Redemption Island! I may become interested in the show again, even if it’s something already done by most other versions years ago.

Edit: Interesting find, it sounds like there are two pilots for a UK version of Hold On To Your Seat being filmed at the end of January in London. It is, of course, the English version of France 2 daytime hit Tout le Monde Veut Prendre sa Place! which Greg Scott did a pilot for on the French set a while ago.

Right I’m cold let’s get this over with:

  • Drop Zone – Not a hit, and probably wouldn’t have been a hit if it was on at a proper time but despite that I’ve quite enjoyed it and reckon there is something to work with here. An exciting double bill this afternoon, with the semi-final and final. (2:25pm, Sunday, BBC1)
  • Sports Personality of the Year 2010 – Only really pointed out because it’s something we used to watch and people might be interested in. I will probably be watching the 100 Greatest Toys on Channel 4 though. (7pm, Sunday, BBC1)
  • The Apprentice – It’s the grand final! (9pm, Sunday, BBC1)
  • Only Connect – Third place playoff featuring the Wrights vs The Alesmen. (8:30pm, Monday, BBC1)
  • The Million Dollar Money Drop – A format I’ve been correctly cool about travels to the US where it will probably do OK on its first outing despite being two hours long and Foxified then fail to hold its audience as the week progresses. I look forward to the positive spin on the numbers. (Monday-Thursday, Fox)
  • Who Wants to Be a Millionaire – Live! With two couples (Chris Evans and James Martin, Carol Vorderman and Gok Wan), will be interested to see what happens if they don’t finish the second game in time. This time round a lucky home viewer can win half the value of the the prizes won for charity. Will they do LIVE ask the nationwide audience? (9pm, Thursday, ITV)
  • Only Connect – I can’t find much to get excited about on Christmas Day, so why not watch the Only Connect marathon on BBC4? I say marathon, but it’s really only the two semi-finals back to back. (8pm, Christmas Day, BBC4)
  • All-Star Family Fortunes – Although I suppose there’s this if you’re that way inclined, teams from This Morning take on Emmerdale in an hour’s special. How are they going to drag it out to an hour? (8pm, Christmas Day, ITV1)

Well if a punter’s comment is to be believed on tonight’s final Schlag den Raab 2011 Eurovision host Stefan Raab will literally be taking on a contestant single-handedly (because he’s hurt his other one) in defence of the €1m prize.

Look out for Rock Paper Scissors as the all important game 15 if it gets that far. Inevitably.

It’s on from 7:15 UK/8:15 CET, and hopefully there will be a naughty internet stream of it somewhere.

In the meantime, in honour of the sensational super sack of German Television  Stefan Raab’s Eurovision fame let’s link to some of his finest work!

New iPad review: Who Wants to be a Millionaire? HD 2011 Edition.

Currently going for £2.99, or £1.79 for the iPhone one.

Meanwhile, in an early Board of Excitement, not only is it the The Apprentice final on Sunday night (9-11pm, BBC1), it’s also a Drop Zone double bill, so it’s the final of that as well (2:25pm-4:25pm).
