Long term readers know we like a banging remix, I found this linked to on Facebook this morning:
Very good. It’s been on Youtube for years by the looks of things, but through accident or design the bloke who did it spelt ‘Krypton’ wrong.

OK. so we had a look at the Catchphrase app last weekend so as it’s quiet why don’t we have a look at the original US version of the show with Art James? Things to note: 1) the scoring system is quite crude, 2) Mr Chips is called Herbie and 3) the animation music is quite jolly:

The show didn’t last past 13 weeks in the US. The show was made in 1985.

Still not a massively exciting week, but no matter as Bother’s Bar has new CONTENT today, I’ve done a review of Catchphrase on iPad and iPhone (this would have been earlier today but I only discovered this afternoon there’s a native iPad version). It is not amazing, but you could have less fun for 69p.
Wow. Well never mind, let’s fill out today with a link to photos of the building of Fort Boyard‘s new watchtower, courtesy of FortBoyard.net. Lovely.
Edit: Fun! Here’s INTERNATIONAL Krypton Factor from 1988.

Here’s something I bashed out for fun culture blog and fellow East Anglians Shouting at Cows regarding “brilliantly terrible gameshow conceits”. It wasn’t a top five in my head but has otherwise been nicely sub-edited. They are probably not the worst shows, but have been away from the public conciousness enough to make them interesting to mention.
I’d like to thank the production music conversation for highlighting the work of Simon Etchell.
