The King of Teatime Quizzes

For whatever reason I felt the urge to watch an episode of Dick ‘n’ Dom’s Ask the Family last night. And happily the final episode is up on Youtube:

Although unfortunately by this point in the run most of the madness had been toned down after it had been so poorly received. Pity.

In other news, and this might be interesting, Griff Rhys-Jones is fronting a comedy panel game called A Short History of Almost Everything which will be going out LIVE on Mondays from February 20th on Channel 4. Viewers will be able to play along and dictate the scores, apparently. Tickets here, although I don’t know how much you’ll be missing if you just watch it on telly. Will it be on a delay to cut out the fun libellous stuff?

I guess this also gives a hint as to when The Bank Job is happening, as it’s 9pm entry presumably for 10pm start. So TBJ won’t be on Monday nights at 10 from the middle of February.

Board of Excitement 15th – 21st January 2012

By | January 15, 2012

Notable things this week:

  • Mix It Up Real Good Stage 1 – The first round of our free non-hold ’em contest is tonight at 8pm. Do join in, it won’t cost you anything. Tonight Omaha Hi/Lo is on the menu. You will need to be a member of the Bother’s Bar poker club to play. (8pm, Sunday, Pokerstars)
  • The POLL of 2011 RESULTS! Will go up on Monday night. Hopefully. The Golden Five this year was particularly excitng.
  • Fort Boyard: Ultimate Challenge – Series two goes out on Disney XD in the US from Monday, which is interesting as it was suggested CITV would get to show series two first. Series 1 on CITV can of course be found at 9am on Saturdays, repeated 5pm on Mondays.
  • Playing it Straight – Well this didn’t do very well up against Celebrity Big Brother. Show discussion. (9pm, Monday, E4)
  • The Exit List – Surprised everyone liked it as much as they did, I’ll be interested to see if you still all love it at the end of the series. Show discussion. (8pm, Tuesday, ITV1)

Er, I think that’s it really. Although it sounds like episode two of Wie Is De Mol? is almost ready for english language consumption.

Edit: I knew I missed something out, Gadget Geeks, starring Friend Of The Bar Tom Scott amongst others, begins on Sky 1 at 8pm.
