You can’t have Wayne Brady because he’s a) my choice and b) tied to CBS. This will be on Fox. And I will have decent money on it being… more dramatic than any other version of the show. Anyway, Buzzerblog broke the story.
Shove Tuesday
I’m considering running a game of poker titled Shove Tuesday this evening (because it’s Pancake Day) – 500 chips, 3 minute blinds, £3.30 to enter (although I’m also considering a £1 speed rebuy), winner takes all. If anyone shows any interest in this at all, I’ll set it up for 9pm this evening when I get in from work.
You will need to be a member of the Bother’s Bar Home Game club, details on the BotherSOP page. Joining is free.
Edit: If this is going to happen, it’s going to be a £1 (about $1.60) rebuy (enter for £1.10, rebuys are optional – set yourself a limit, rebuy period will end at level 6 I think), 500 chips, 3 minute levels and 6-max tables to get the hands in. I intend to rebuy an unlimited (*) number of times to juice the pot, but I won’t be playing to lose. Yes. (*) Not legally binding.
Edit Edit: This is definitely happening, I will be setting it up about six-ish. Hope to see you there!
Edit Edit Edit: Just heard PS might have removed rebuy option from Home Games, in which case will go back to original plan. Will sort something out for this evening, the name is to good to pass up.
Edit Edit Edit Edit: Bloody hell, not only can I not offer rebuys, but the smallest chip stack is 1,000. Anyway you can now register for it, it remains winner take all with three minute levels and six-max tables. £3 + 30p to enter, or about $5.25.
EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT: Congratulations to INAUGRAL Shove Tuesday champion David J Bodycombe!
Notices 19th February 2012
- TONIGHT! I’m playing a fun game of Fabricated Pointless (it’s like Pointless, but I’ve made all the results up) on Twitter at 7pm but at 7:30 it’s the first deepstack round of the Bother Series of Poker – double stack, double stake and double points. That starts at 7:30. SEVEN THIRTY. All welcome regardless of ability or league ambition, Buy-in is £10+1.
- This week’s excitement: Anglicised Wie is De Mol? (Hopefully sometime on Monday), The Amazing Race starts tonight which I’m bored of but I know a lot of you lot like, Survivor and Accumulate! during the week and Pointless Celebrities begins a Saturday evening run on BBC1 at 6:15. It has a 55 minute running time, which for an average quiz would suggest a bit more tedious padding, but in Pointless it doesn’t seem quite so bad.
Show Discussion: The Bank Job series 2
Week 1:
9pm Friday, Channel 4
9:10pm Saturday, Channel 4
Lamby is BACK! with a second series of The Bank Job on Friday and Saturday nights over the next five weeks.
The lazy Prisoner’s Dilemma end-of-tournament game has disappeared and now it’s winner stays on, and they could win hundreds of thousands of pounds.
We chat about series one here, needless to say if they take some of my ideas on board I will be billing Endemol appropriately for doing their bloody job for them. I’m basically happy to see it back, but also hope it’s better this time round.
Unfortunately being in the target demographic (i.e. young and cool) I’m going to be out for both of the opening episodes, but I will be recording them. I look forward to reading your comments.
Survivor
So, I discovered last night that Survivor: One World began last night on US telly. It’s quite sad that this was a show I used to look forward to but for whatever reason just can’t be bothered with these days. Anyway, this season’s “thing” is that both tribes live on the same beach, hopefully leading to some more exciting post-merge strategies.
Another show I used to really look forward to but now can’t be bothered with is The Amazing Race, this time starring Brendon and Rachel from Big Brother US whom I wholly predict will be no Rob and Amber, begins on Sunday night.
Accumuontime
Episode two of Accumulate is now up.
Meanwhile, 1.8m for The Exit List that I went and saw being recorded.
