SdH December 17 Bonusrunde

By | December 17, 2017

Missed the commentary last night? Here are the bonus events you can watch separately.

First of all Choose Your Own 321 Adventure, an Interactive Twitter event where, guided by the puzzle experts in the studio who had no idea of the answers, the audience would play the prize auction bit of 3-2-1 voting to reject items in polls, hoping to avoid being left with Dusty Bin and hoping to find the Star Prize. Too much dead space in it to do again I think (incredibly the six riddles here edit down to just under 40 minutes) but the idea is quite fun and it will almost certainly come back in a different capacity for something else.

Meanwhile here’s also another round of Dealing With David, with slightly more up-to-date questions and a mystery time limit:

Schlag den Henssler 16/12/17 #bbsdh

Saturday, 7:15pm UK (8:15pm Europe)
ProSieben or naughty streaming services

Tweet us on #bbsdh

One ‘n’, two ‘s’s, Stefen Henssler is BACK for a third night of SdH where a member of the public will take on the celebrity chef over fifteen events to win the rollover jackpot which this episode stands at €750,000.

And that means we’re back as well providing commentary, entertainment and gossip throughout the show’s lengthy running time. Do come along and keep us company, we’ll be reading your tweets all night.

And feel free to dip in and out, on previous form the show will still be going on past midnight. The musical turns on offer are Nico Santos, Johannes Oerding and Daniel Wirtz.

Our commentary stream link will appear here – live from 7:15 to around midnight.
This stream is commentary only. You will need to have a naughty stream running at the same time for the visuals. We are likely to be about 15-20 seconds behind the visual stream (and about a full minute behind if you’re watching an actual satellite feed), sorry.

To watch it would be useful to download Opera and sign up for ProSieben’s catch-up service – it’s pretty simple to work out, don’t click the box if you don’t want e-mail messages. You will need to put in a proper e-mail because it will send you a confirmation. Go into your settings (Cog top right of Speed Dial screen, then bottom) – go to Privacy settings, click on Enable VPN. Go to Pro7 stream, click on blue VPN symbol in address bar, turn it on for Germany. Hassle but should work!

Back up – best in Opera or Firefox. Best with ad-block.

Show Discussion: Ultimate Beastmaster S2

MORTALL KOMBAAT!

Netflix, from December 15th

New series of Sylvester Stallone and Netflix’s very own large-scale obstacle course show where competitors from six countries, this time the US, Spain, France, Italy, China and India compete to tame the four stages of The Beast, a huge obstacle course built in California.

We enjoyed series one up to a point, decent concept, great use of international commentators (I’ll really miss the Brazillian guys) but an end game that felt almost a bit too difficult and a course that got rather more boring the more you watched – for a delivery service that has built its reputation on binge watching it’s quite a difficult show to binge watch.

My understanding is season two was filmed back to back with season one (which may be a misunderstanding), we’re aware there have been a couple of changes to basic set design, what we’re really hoping for is that they mix up the course a bit more. Fingers crossed!

It’s The Crystal Maze Christmas Special this evening

By | December 14, 2017

Nine o’clock on Channel 4, and to be fair they’ve gone all out for it, Christmassy remixed music, a wassailling gag, snow, the works. Tom Davis is funny in it too. The tone still feels well off but it’s probably the best episode of the reboot.

There’s already been a little bit of discussion of it in the original Crystal Maze thread and I hate split discussions, but I didn’t come up with the bloody scheduling decisions so we will have to make do.

It looks like OnePlus have stopped sponsoring it, if watching it on Thanks 4 is anything to go by.

Edit: Ha ha, wrong again.

It’s Schlag Saturday this Saturday!

By | December 12, 2017

So join us once again for another thrilling live episode of Schlag den Henssler as a contestant (who is being picked by an online vote this time round) takes on celebrity chef Stefan Hennsler over 15 unusual events LIVE for a rollover €750,000.

That’s 7:15pm UK time, going on until around midnight. Time will tell whether it’s a particularly Christmassy episode or not.

MEANWHILE don’t forget it’s the The Crystal Maze Mid-Advent Special this Thursday, 9pm on Channel 4. It’s sure to be a bit sarcastic!

Finally we were surprised and shocked to hear Keith Chegwin died yesterday, so here’s Cheggers Plays Pop, with incredible buzzer hats.
