Hello, not much happening publicly but lots of stuff going on behind the scenes, tomorrow hoping to bring you a proper review of the Fort Boyard app (sneak preview: when you post your score to Twitter, the official tweet leads to the Bulkypix game Soldiers vs Aliens. Erm.).

And hopefully, provided nothing falls through, we’re recording The Line Up on Monday night. The guests are really good provided nothing falls through. Fingers crossed!

App Boyard

By | October 25, 2012

Whilst we’re getting all excited for the Halloween special next Wednesday (7:45 UK time, France 2) there’s an app out! And it’s in English!

The problem is, last time I looked, it’s only available in the New Zealand app store. I think we can all have a good guess as to why. Or at least it was this morning, may have changed now.

Still as soon as we can buy a copy in the UK it will be played and there will be an exciting review.

Here’s that trailer again because (spoilers notwithstanding) this looks like it’s going to be BLOODY BRILLIANT:

Do A Thing And Win Some Cash

Some contestant calls I expect you will be interested in:

Also, you know every show that says “it’s not what you know, it’s how you think?” Almost all the time, it’s actually what you know.

Anyway friend of the Bar Vierkante O tweeted a link to new Dutch show Passie in De Polder (which I’m going to suggest probably doesn’t literally translate to Next Top Porn Producer). Unfortunately, “apparently” geoblocked.

However fear not, don’t forget that Victoria Coren off of Only Connect produced a porn film with Charlie Skelton and wrote a book about it, Once More with Feeling. It’s highly entertaining. And, er, Amazon are selling it used from £2.42.

Fifty 50 Show Episode 5

By | October 22, 2012

Episode Five of the Internet’s MOST EXCITING podcast! If this was Deal or No Deal, they’d probably be playing for a double jackpot, or something.

This week chatting with Lewis Murphy is Caroline The Teacher and Andrew Keshihead Sullivan about his appearance on Breakaway and variously other stuff.

Also very excitingly, the inaugural English language game of 21 Questions Wrong, the endgame from this year’s last year’s best new quiz Avanti un Altro! Will I win a quarter of a million Euros, or will I get my backside handed to me as it has hundreds of Italians before it? Can Daniel Peake cope with the blistering pace? FIND OUT.

The Episode show notes are on the Fifty 50 site here.

You can download it directly from here.

You can even subscribe to it on iTunes so never miss an episode.

Or you can subscribe via your own alternative RSS feed, if that is a thing that makes you happy.

Don’t worry everyone, we are currently plotting the next exciting episode of The Line Up. There will be fireworks. And a zombie. And The Machine has had some modifications! Find out what within the next fortnight, fingers crossed.

I’m struggling…

By | October 21, 2012

…to find things worth posting about. Sorry.

Still, Fifty 50 Show is now on iTunes. About time, frankly. Me and Dan Peake recorded a hilarious insert for an upcoming episode on Wednesday, so listen out for that.

Das Mystery of Quizboxen

By | October 18, 2012

TV Total Quizboxen
Tonight, 9:30 UK time, Pro7

Denk! Tonight is the inaugural edition of Stefan Raab’s TV Total Quizboxen. It takes the modern sport of chessboxing and replaces the chess with a quiz.

Five two-minute rounds of boxing interspersed with five rounds of quiz duelling. A knockout can happen in either. The winner wins €25,000 and will get to defend their title next time, a fifth victory is worth an additional €100,000. There will be three fights this evening.

Looking forward to this, it’ll be interesting to see how it turns out.
