Happy April Fool’s Day!

By | April 1, 2010

You will be pleased to hear that there will be no April Fools gags on Bother’s Bar this year – not even hilariously changing the masthead to Bother’s Bra like I did last year, mainly because I can’t be bothered to think anything up.

Or is this an April Fool in itself? Ahhhhhhh. And what about that? Ahhhhhhhh.

Actually, this is all very well, but the big question is: what does an old episode of Run For Money look like in TEXTp?

runtextp

Clearly amazing.

Also it’s on Facebook, so I guess I’m allowed to say it: Only Connect‘s been comissioned for a fourth record-breaking series (like it was ever in doubt) which they filming over the Summer.

I hope Only Connect’s logo colour changes to the colour on the Aniseed Imperial packets.

I would have guessed that to be a US DoND screenshot if I didn’t know better… from the Banker’s booth…

If YouTube are continuing this after AFD (and they bloody should!!), this’d be a possible BB comp, surely?

And if not, there are pleanty of ASCII based videoplayers for a Linux distro Brig could install on a second partition for the purpose of the comp.

…Has the BBC ever clarified if their general election footage is a gameshow or not?

Because, you know… It’s a contest, there’s a prize, it’s broadcast in the UK for British audiences, all participants are British…

(This brought to you on the “Anything the BBC explicitly say isn’t a gameshow should be eyed as if it were a gameshow until proven otherwise” principle.)

Ah, but it’s just coverage of a pre-existing competition. Same reason UKGS has an entry for One Man And His Dog but not Fairpasean Chon-Chaorach. (Though I think around the time of the last election I did refer to it as being the “Vote For Me” champion-of-champions final…)

Seem to recall similar distinctions regarding televised poker for a while, actually. Though that’s not my domain.

Actually, thanks for mentioning that, I was just about to ask, what time is that in EST? Daylight Savings/Spending/Squandering Time really screws me up, and I’m not sure what time that lines up with in Germany anymore. Is it now 3:15p instead of 2:15p?

I’m back from New York – and I didn’t catch Minute To Win It (grrr)
I was just about to ask about the second edition of Beat The Rabb. I couldn’t remember if I have to fire up the laptop tomorrow evening (it being Easter and all that) or next week.

I take it for viewers who shouldn’t technically be watching in the UK – it’ll start at 8pm BST?

There is a reason why I have said “next Saturday” in his thread 😉 Provided Europe have done their daylight savings, the UK start time will be (as always), 7.15pm.
