Board of Excitement 13th June – 19th June

By | June 13, 2010

Well this is a first, I can’t think of anything on this week I’m very excited about.

Anyone?

Some Fort Boyard 2010 news (courtesy of Fortboyard.net) – as I suspected, it’s teams taking part in a knockout tournament (the translation suggests the winners come back the following week and face two new teams but I’m not convinced that’s correct – although I could very well be wrong), each team consists of two men and two women, €40,000 going to the tournament winners alongside anything else they’ve won up to that point, Pere Fouras will still be doing riddles (good), they’re increasing the role of Monseiur Laboule (even better), the prisons will be central to strategy this year. This might be quite good after all that.

Passe Temps has left the show. I belive that the team that scores the highest amount of keys in the key game half will face the Winning team from the last episode in the Clues for the Treasure room. So doesnt sound half too bad

More info about FB 2010 courtesy of fan-fortboyard.fr:

        – no more night challenges
        – players from each team will go up to the vigie for Pere Fouras’ riddles at the same time

And apparently according to those who have checked tv guides… no FB until at least July 10th.

The Series 62 Grand Final of Countdown is on Friday.

Number 1 seed Oliver Garner scored a fantastic 123 in his quarter-final, and is sure to be the favourite to win the dictionaries and hold the trophy named in honour of RW.

Yes, this came up during the genuinely awful Big Brother’s Big Mouth last Wednesday night. I already quite liked Josie, so that’s the icing on the cake, really.

If TCM wasn’t a key part of her childhood (since she was 10 when it ended), then I can only gather she fell in love with it after watching repeats on Challenge.

I’m not entirely sure I love this, given that BB doesn’t really have an overt strategy element really, but I’m happy to wait and see how it pans out.

It’s a step in the right direction though, you must admit.

I’ve not watched anything past the first night of BB since the fifth or sixth year, so this year is holding my interest nicely.

I certainly think from a gaming perspective it’s a good idea, but I prefer to think of Big Brother as a cohesive whole. I may well put a post up on this in a minute, actually.

Also as it’s been a dry week, I thought I’d share the revelation that the musicians of CLASSIC game GoldenEye 007 clearly were watching Fort Boyard Canada when they were writing their music: http://youtubedoubler.com/vTUA
