You’ve undoubtably heard the news that three-time World’s Strongest Man Tom Stoltman is joining Gladiators which begins filming this weekend – no idea what his name will be, I would presume it would reference his WSM-past so something like Atlas, probably (“He knows Fingal’s Fingers better than anyone it’s… HUSAFELL!”), but it will be interesting to see how he adapts from Strongman to things that require a bit more agility and certainly more shock and impact – will he get Powerball? I’m guessing he’s not going to be doing The Wall any time soon. you’d presume he’ll never lose Duel. Is he going to be more liable to injury? Don’t know, but I’m sure stories will come out on The Socials across the next fortnight. There’s also a new event coming, you’d hope more than one but supposedly not.

I’m aware his Strongman nickname is Albatross, but I can’t see that fitting in if they bring that across.
So chums at the Day One filming here’s what we’ve gleaned:
* Tom Stoltman is HIGHLANDER, there are also new female Glads Goldstar and Huntress.
* Episodes are just FOUR events and Eliminator, really disappointing.
* You get two points if you survive Everest until the first tilt.

The Sun is reporting that Joe Marler is becoming the first Celebrity Gladiator. I don’t know much else
New game Plummet – hang on to jiggling trapeze bar as long as you can.
Also seen suggestion that the fifth event each episode might be some sort of American Gladiator vs UK Gladiator challenge, which presumably means American Gladiators will be coming to BBC3 at some point. But no confirmation of that.

She’s definitely left rather than was dropped but she’s still doing the live tour which is… odd. Expensive break clause? There’s definitely a story, although we might not find out what it is.
This series does feel like a bit of a shit show… or at least decisions have been made. But then last series felt the same from the recording reports and still turned out OK, so.
