Some fun for the quizzers out there, FOTB Royal_Flush has across the past two months or so run a quiz tournament of his own format called The Drain during his Twitch streams (currently on a break but returning to Thursdays and Saturdays in a few weeks), episodes are currently being chopped up and put out on Youtube.

Looks like episodes are going up nightly at the moment. There’s plenty of other good quizzing on the channel to watch as well.
For me, it was a great balance between being very fun to play and a very good watch as well. Some really tight matches I look forward to seeing again.
I quite enjoyed how wildly swingy it could be, and how some results would have been completely different if people were a bit more tactical with their buzzing. I perhaps wish Ben was a bit faster with the asking, but I understand the reasoning.
I’m liking this, kind of sort of what Time Is Money could have been – very well polished given the by nature small production, similarly to The Loop which I also enjoyed; I’m not a regular Twitch viewer (time is, ironically, a factor) but very much would like to seek out more of this sort of original creation. Given it’s a chunk hived off a Twitch gamenight I’m unsure if this’d be a valid vote for the ‘Streaming 5’ at the bin-end of the year, but it’s probably worth some kind of tip of the hat as a ‘worth checking out’…
There’s going to be a bit of restructuring of the poll categories now that streaming services are regularly topping BARB so there might be room for properly formatted, episodic stuff like this in the streaming category, I haven’t finalised plans yet.
