BotherSOP Freeroll on Sunday

By | December 14, 2011

Hello Gang, just a reminder that it’s the BotherSOP Freeroll on Sunday night at 8pm on Poker Stars, where we’re basically just trying out the Home Game software. The winner will win £11, which will buy you into the first two events of the BotherSOP 2012 in January.

You will need to be a member of Brig’s Poker Club to play – it is free and easy:

– If you don’t already have it, download the free PokerStars software from www.pokerstars.com
– Open the main poker lobby, then click on the Home Games tab
– Click the ‘Join a Poker Club’ button
– Enter my Club ID number: 466738
– Enter my Invitation Code: onlyconnect

Don’t leave it to the last minute as I will need to approve you joining the club (although I can’t think of any reason why I wouldn’t) before you can register for the tournament. I say it’s a freeroll, it will in fact cost you 5.50 in play money (so don’t hilariously blow it). Needless to say, I’m hoping to win so I don’t have to pay out anything, so bring your A game.

Unfortunately it’s going to clash with the first episode of Home For The Holidays on Sunday night, but that means we can chat about it LIVE! in the chatbox.

I’m hoping to have the trophy ready for you very soon.

Poker Stars Home Games being really, really slow this evening – if you applied late I’m trying for you but cannot make guarantees. I think it’s their ten year main event this evening, which is great timing all round for everyone concerned.

Yeah, I can now see the club which I couldn’t five minutes earlier (just “loading”), but I still can’t register nor see the club lobby. I can’t even see any names listed at all but that may be by design.

Never mind, I hope it works out – hello by the way, I hope to take part in future events now you’re on PS. I didn’t just turn up cos it was a freeroll, honest…

Tourney doesn’t appear to have started so could be a backlog – I’ve hear tourney starting noises

Stars is normally much better than this

I’m clicking the Take Your Seat button, but nothings happening. Well, what a monumental balls-up, eh?

Well, 30 minutes of frantic button pushing and no dice. Sadface.

Hope you’ll complain to PS because that was ultrapoor of them.

Right everybody. I won! Great news. Unlcuky Chris, who ceom second after a tense heads-up battle.

Thanks to everyone who played, and special thanks to those who tried to play but couldn’t. It wasn’t a good show for PS really.

I will be running a SECOND freeroll during the boring Christmas/New Year limbo, probably the 28th or 29th. I am happy to go with the date that most people want, but I want to set it up before next weekend so people have plenty of time to register. If you have a date preference then shout, it will be the one with the biggest number PROBABLY.

Out of those 2 dates, I’d most want to play on the 29th. I’ll be spending Christmas with my dad who doesn’t have net access at his house, so I’ll see if I can get back mid-week to join in.

Well, after my non-performance, you can see why I steered clear of the BSOP in previous years and playing poker for real money full stop, I’m just too green. I should have twigged on that full house, my opponent would have had a bigger pair than me. After that, there was just no way back for me, and it was a case of “Hi then, bye then”.

Poker is very much a game of experience – the more you play, the better it clicks. It is quite difficult to get away from full house vs full house.
