Happy New Year!

By | December 30, 2011

Well this is about it for 2011 from Bother’s Bar, I’d like to wish all my Punters a happy new year. We’ll probably be launching the Poll of 2011 on the evening of the 1st, or maybe the second, IT DEPENDS ON OUR HANGOVER OBVIOUSLY.

Still, in the meantime we’ve just discovered someone appears to be chronicling Daphne Fowler’s quiz career on Youtube. There’s five episodes of Jeopardy, loads of Aussie Sale of the Century, UK Sale, and some other things like Bullseye and 15-1.

However, for all of you planning on going travelling in the new year here’s some classic 9:25 Richard Madeley action with Runway.

The dangers of recording 5 shows a day for 5 days and with a bad throat.

I remember Jeff Stelling having a really croaky voice at the start of Soccer Saturday once, and wondering if he would even get to 3pm before having to throw it all in and hand over to whoever was kicking around Sky Sports News to steer the old gal to 6pm.
He somehow made it though – although his usual shouting phase between 4.40 and 5 was very muted indeed.

Last posting of the year around here. Catch you all in 2012…

Rather disappointing to hear that The Cube scraped only 2.8 million viewers yesterday. I gather another series is being filmed soon but given the drop in popularity of the show in recent months, should we expect it to be the last one? I thought it might’ve been due to New Years Eve and people being out, but BBC1 managed a far more respectable 5m at the same time.

I didn’t even know The Cube was on last night. I only saw it on the Sky Guide round at a friend’s house before we left. I’m sure it’ll get repeated at some point, though, so I can catch it then.

    To quite someone on Tumblr…

“If you wanna see a zombie, a real live zombie, they have one on television right now. His name’s Dick Clark.”
