As ever we will have our Discord open for live chat and quizzing and gossip and stuff. Remember it’s a privilege not a right so behave yourselves. To avoid cutting out, we advise turning Auto-sensitivity off and setting it to -85dB or so in your settings.

The Opera VPN has apparently stopped being useful for SdS. Bother’s Bar recommends shelling out for a proper VPN service. Bother’s Bar uses ExpressVPN, other VPN services are available. Matt Clemson recommends Windscribe as a free alternative. We cannot take responsibility for anything you do to your system, so be careful and use some common sense.
To watch it would be useful to sign up for ProSieben’s catch-up service – it’s pretty simple to work out, don’t click the box if you don’t want e-mail messages. You will need to put in a proper e-mail because it will send you a confirmation.

- If you’ve been wanting to see what French Millionaire At Home looks like, people have been uploading to Youtube. Looks like top prize is €300,000 (celebs are playing for medical charities). I have no idea what’s going on 6mins 30sec in here, but at least the host’s pets make appearances:
Show Discussion: Beat the Chasers

Intriguingly stripped nightly quiz where a player can win thousands of pounds by taking on not just one but an entire team of Chasers.
As we understand it each player gets a five question cashbuilder, and then a choice of offers – play against more Chasers with a smaller headstart for more money. What follows is a chess clock quiz (which also works a bit like The Final Chase in reverse, here’s its the team of Chasers on the buzzers against a lone contestant). Outlast the team, win the money, and several contestants will get a go in each episode.
We have our misgivings with chess clock based quizzes (they’re rarely actually as exciting as they look on paper, winning is much more about opponent attrition than it is about being able to Do A Thing, so they’re very difficult to come back from if you fall behind), and the scheduling for this feels a bit… hopeful?
On the other hand, the Chasers and Bradley are assets, and you have to think this would be an easy sell to all the international territories that currently make their own version of The Chase if it works out here.

The unexpected return of Quiz the Nation
We were very interested in technologically advanced (and way ahead of its time) but not quite clever enough pub quiz Quiz the Nation back in the day, and Bother’s Bar punters won thousands of pounds from it (as ever, everyone does well out of Bother’s Bar apart from me).
So I found this post on Facebook quite interesting:
