It looks like the geniuses behind The Genius are making a new show called Code.

According to multiple industry insiders on Thursday, the show will air on JTBC and involves celebrities competing with each other to solve quizzes.

This link from Bumdidlyumtious’ Twitter when translated suggests this is may well be a follow up to a semi-regular show that aired last year called Box, which sounds as though it’s a escape-room concept as a long-form reality show (i.e. the set has got a bed in it), if anyone knows where to see a copy do let us know. Bump didn’t sound too enamoured with it. Edit: It’s not escape-room-esque in the slightest.

In other news Sangmin and Dongmin are returning in a show called BangShiPop where they get to produce any sort of show they want. Here is a trailer which features other familiar faces:

The Crystal Maze live experience thing tickets go on sale to the general public today

Here’s the official site. And you might want to keep your eye on their Twitter. People who backed it on IndieGoGo should have been able to pick dates yesterday.

It’s in a secret location in Kings Cross and the launch date is March 15th. You should be able to book for the first six months of opening in the first instance.

I’m going in April, I’m mainly hoping it doesn’t ruin my childhood.

Edit: Here’s the official SeeTickets link – fair to say it’s not cheap –  £60 (£50 off peak) for an individual ticket, £420/£500 for a full team of eight. The experience is set to last around 90 minutes.

Conquering the world

We’re hoping he makes a guest appearance on every version in the world, including the non-English ones.

This has irritated me more than it probably should

Do you remember those halcyon days in the early 2000s where every show after Weakest Link did behind the scenes contestant interviews regardless if they were worthwhile or not? It turns out we’re just one step away from Catchphrase Extra on ITV2 where Paddy McGuinness chats to Gemma Collins and Andi Peters about the episode just gone out, with a live phone-in.

Nobody cares. STOP IT.

In other news our Russian chums who have fanmade their own very decent versions of 21QW and more recently 5 Minutes to a Fortune have another show they want to show us, rather unexpectedly it’s a version of Never Mind the Buzzcocks:

I fear this would feel better with webcams/live action than static pictures, and obviously we won’t get the jokes, but there we are.

Show Discussion: 1000 Heartbeats Series 2

By | November 23, 2015

ITV

Vernon’s back with another thirty episodes of mental agility and heart rate control quiz 1000 Heartbeats.

By the sounds of it it’s been taken apart, the bits cleaned up and put back together again with new games and new music from Paul Farrer And His Hat performed by the Heartbeats Strings Quartet (who you can now book to play at your events). Paul’s putting some of his tunes on his Youtube, so go and have a look.

We enjoyed the first series more than we were expecting to in truth so hopefully the second series will continue going in the right direction. This time it’s in an earlier slot – 3pm rather than 4pm, it’s doing well if it gets around a million (at the very least it aims not to lose too many viewers from Judge Rinder before it) so look out for that.
