- TONIGHT! I’m playing a fun game of Fabricated Pointless (it’s like Pointless, but I’ve made all the results up) on Twitter at 7pm but at 7:30 it’s the first deepstack round of the Bother Series of Poker – double stack, double stake and double points. That starts at 7:30. SEVEN THIRTY. All welcome regardless of ability or league ambition, Buy-in is £10+1.
- This week’s excitement: Anglicised Wie is De Mol? (Hopefully sometime on Monday), The Amazing Race starts tonight which I’m bored of but I know a lot of you lot like, Survivor and Accumulate! during the week and Pointless Celebrities begins a Saturday evening run on BBC1 at 6:15. It has a 55 minute running time, which for an average quiz would suggest a bit more tedious padding, but in Pointless it doesn’t seem quite so bad.
Show Discussion: The Bank Job series 2
Week 1:
9pm Friday, Channel 4
9:10pm Saturday, Channel 4
Lamby is BACK! with a second series of The Bank Job on Friday and Saturday nights over the next five weeks.
The lazy Prisoner’s Dilemma end-of-tournament game has disappeared and now it’s winner stays on, and they could win hundreds of thousands of pounds.
We chat about series one here, needless to say if they take some of my ideas on board I will be billing Endemol appropriately for doing their bloody job for them. I’m basically happy to see it back, but also hope it’s better this time round.
Unfortunately being in the target demographic (i.e. young and cool) I’m going to be out for both of the opening episodes, but I will be recording them. I look forward to reading your comments.
Survivor
So, I discovered last night that Survivor: One World began last night on US telly. It’s quite sad that this was a show I used to look forward to but for whatever reason just can’t be bothered with these days. Anyway, this season’s “thing” is that both tribes live on the same beach, hopefully leading to some more exciting post-merge strategies.
Another show I used to really look forward to but now can’t be bothered with is The Amazing Race, this time starring Brendon and Rachel from Big Brother US whom I wholly predict will be no Rob and Amber, begins on Sunday night.
Accumuontime
Episode two of Accumulate is now up.
Meanwhile, 1.8m for The Exit List that I went and saw being recorded.
Bother’s Twit Phrase
In lieu of anything interesting, here is a fun game as we’ve not done one for a while. Simply find the expression being expressed by the following:
- Gulf Stream
- Humboldt
- Kuroshio
- >>Labrador<<
Just say what you see! I’m doing this “on” Twitter as well.
Edit: Jenny Ryan of The Gamblers off of Only Connect got it. It’s a series of oceanic currents, the last one is highlighted, hence “last in the current series”! Well done! Join us next time for some more Bother’s Twit Phrase!
Notices 12th Feb 2012
- There are not enough things for a full on Board of Excitement this week. Pointless begins a new series with all new head-to-head round (5:15pm, Monday BBC1) whilst on Channel 4 it’s 80s love mix week on Deal or No Deal. This week’s The Exit List (8pm, Tuesday, ITV1) is the one I went and saw in November. And a new run of The Bank Job starts on Friday night (9pm, Friday, C4) – I intend on setting up a new show discussion post for it. And Dan Peake promises that episode two of Accumulate will be audible to human ears from the get go when it’s released some point this week. And of course there is Wie is De Mol?!
- In fun news, Bother’s Bar recommended Scream If You Know The Answer! will be filming its third series in the USA. It’s a Lion and Travel Channel co-production. It is nice that Duncan James can find time from his work in chart-topping comeback kings Blue etc.
- And don’t forget! We’re pokering tonight at 8pm. The game is Stud Hi/Lo, it’s free, do join.
