Taskmaster S8 Line-Up

By | February 18, 2019

As revealed this morning:

  • Joe Thomas from The Inbetweeners.
  • Iain Stirling from My Dog At My Homework and that Love Island thing.
  • Lou Sanders.
  • Paul Sinha off of The Chase.
  • Sian Gibson from Car Share.

Of those Lou and Sian are mysteries to me, Iain Stirling ought to be good, Sinha could go either way and Joe Thomas has been cast for Greg Davies to shout at.

Not a line-up that I’m fist pumping over, but Taskmaster has taught us that it’s rarely worth judging a series before it’s started.

Think this is a bit of a dark horse of a lineup. Some disappointment on social media as there are no comedy mega stars, but I don’t think that matters hugely. As said, Lou is a little bit mad, in a great way especially for Taskmaster. I think Sinah will be very good, going from his appearances on Fighting Talk I think he’ll be one for analysing the rules to a tee, and a bit of thinking out of the box. Someone said Al Murray V2 and I can see that.

The only one I worry about is this stage is Joe Thomas, although I’m sure the studio stuff with him and Greg will be worth it – much like Rhod last series – but I hope that isn’t the only reason he’s been booked. Perhaps that’s unfair?

I have no idea of Joe Thomas’ ouevre outside of The Inbetweeners, he must have done something more recent, surely?

Good point re: Sinha and rules lawyering. I think we’re going to need angry stand-up Sinha though. It’s Fighting Talk that gives me the impression Iain Stirling will be good too, or at least provide a bit of energy.

I’ve been so looking forward to Paul Sinha taking part for years now, to the point where I concluded that they must have asked him and he must have decided against as it’s not his thing. I reckon he’ll be amazing and has a good chance of being the first BAME winner… though I’ve never successfully picked the winner in advance yet!

So if rumours are to believe then David Baddiel must be taking part in the Autumn Season 9 run. Otherwise he has been trolling people.

It’s the No Win, No Fee live show we’ve all been crying out for! Though surely much more interesting.

Schlag die Dick & Dom, surely? ‘Schlag den Dom’ would mean ‘Hit the Cathedral’!

I would get rid of the article and just say Schlag Dick & Dom. Some people in Germany like using articles with names, but you normally don’t use articles with multiple names.

Wasn’t there a “win my fee” type show a few years back?

Any news on when Taskmaster starts.

Only heard of Iain and Paul but taskmaster has never disappointed me so am eagerly awaiting.

I sort of expect Paul to be the Hugh Dennis of this cast. An older man who people think will do well but is actually not all that good at doing tasks

Yes there’s no mega star but i don’t think that decides how a series will go as been said until the series starts i don’t think you can really judge a cast until the show actually starts.
