Amazing

By | November 3, 2011

Right, this is too good an opportunity to pass up. The big £2,500 box canvas thing is too much, but YES INDEED we will have some £15 Paul Ross jigsaw action.

And I will have not just one, but TWO to give away – one in a website competition and one in a Twitter competition.

  • About 300 pieces!
  • Why not laminate it and then put it in your bathroom and have Paul’s welcoming beaming face stare upon you as you bath or shower?
  • Or why not put it together then punch it violently apart in an allusion of that time on Endurance UK he slapped the actor and novelist Peter Cocks in the face one too many times and got beaten up?
  • Why not consider that whilst we’re giving this away for ironic value, they’ve just made about £30 out of us?

Opportunities to win will be coming soon, so stay tuned.

Presumably you’ll be running this competition on a No Win, No Fee basis, Brig…

    I’ll get my coat…

Next week is looking increasingly likely to be the Bother’s Bar Festival of Paul Ross. I hope you’re all *very* excited.

You could say that I’m ‘All Over the Shop’ with excitement; probably shouldn’t though.

In other, Fort Boyard related news the entrance to Spiders and Scorpions appears to be through the Abandoned Cabin (did everyone already know this; it’s news to me anyway).

Going off my viewing of the series show reel some time ago that’s the second most terrifying challenge the contestants on this version will face, the first one we haven’t seen yet – although it depends what you’re scared of really doesn’t it.

The Twitter jigsaw competition will be happening on Monday afternoon. Don’t miss it!

Yes, the abandoned cabin has been transformed into the spiders and scorpions room for the later filmed versions, although many of these also play the Stretcher also. I’m predicting the kids version won’t have the stretcher in it.

Intrigued to find out what the number one scary game is, or what you think it is anyway.

The Upshot (HA!) of this is that it’s probably going to be quite fun.

Do drop some info soon, Brig, it’s testing my Endurance…

      …UK.

Some news. The next Millionaire special to air next Wednesday will be called “Celebrity Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? Remembrance Special”. Turns out the celebrities will be Hugh Bonneville, Melanie Sykes and John Thomson. All pairing up with a member of the Armed Forces

I do wish Victory Television would stop picking celebrities who have played on the show before. I get Hugh Bonneville since he is the star of Downtown Abbey and never been on the show before but I don’t get Melanie Sykes and John Thomson. Since they’re not well in the public anymore and they’ve already played the format once (Sykes in 2002, Thomson being the first celeb to play the 12 question format in 2007). Also since the show will only be 60 minutes and not the normal 75 mins. It will be certain one pair will miss out.

Do we know it’s live? I’ve seen suggestion there’s no splitting the money with the viewer for this one.

I was wondering whether it’s live or not. It’s for definite ITV have stated there will be no viewer competition

“Host, Chris Tarrant, will oversee proceedings as the pairs attempt to climb the money tree against the ticking clock and in a change to the usual Millionaire Special format, all the money won will go to charity rather than split with a member of the public.”

I have done some digging and discovered the show will be recorded and not shown live. They will record it 24 hours before (likt the early days) on Tuesday 8th November. There are no tickets on LostinTV as the audience is for Armed Forces folk only.

On another note. I know ITV have comissioned a futher two specials. One for Christmas (bound to be a Christmas special) and one for January which will probably use the 50/50 split between studio and home viewer.

I reckon it’s probably more likely than not, especially if a game show wants to brand itself around the number five: five contestants, five rounds, five senses, that sort of thing. OK, maybe “five senses” wouldn’t work until there’s smell-o-vision but perhaps that’s the round they replace with a quiz.

I’d bet on it happening within in the next five years, but only if I could get 5/1 against. (I’d put a fiver on it…)

While you’re still stuck in the early noughties, do you know where to find The Vault’s theme?

Doubt we’ll ever know for sure, but is it possible that the Great Man Himself does not see a penny in royalties for our appreciation of his rugged, manly charm? If this is the case then I suspect this whole enterprise may not be in the best taste.

Photographers and their agents keep the money as they own and handle the copyright.

Even if you hire a wedding photographer, most will allow you to reprint your own photos but they often keep the copyright of the pictures themselves.
