Time’s running out to vote

By | January 10, 2017

The UKGameshows.com/Bother’s Bar Poll of the Year 2016 closes on Friday evening which means you only have a few days left to vote if you haven’t done so already.

Don’t be late!

EDIT: The Poll of the Year 2016 Winner’s Party will be here and on Youtube at 9pm on Tuesday 17th January. Join David, Dan and myself for the live reveals and discussion and assorted interactive hijinks.

This will be followed up by the written report about twenty minutes after the end of broadcast.

I will see when my colleagues are available for the now traditional grand Youtube reveal hopefully for one evening next week. The report will be written this weekend ready to go up quickly after that.

I’m going to be interested to see just how varied the questions are going to be on this. I’ve tried thing like this before and, apart from maps and parts of the body, I can’t think what other kinds of picture would work in a 2-D kind of way.

The first episode goes out on SBS in the Netherlands on Thursday, assuming both versions of the show are likely to be very similar if not identical we’ll find out then.

You could use crowds of people maybe? The cover of Sgt Pepper or the Oscar Selfie spring to mind

I’ve just read Who Dares Wins will be resuming 5:30pm on Saturday 21st January

    Interesting slot

This seems a bit rude for a show that people seemed to actually quite like regardless of lottery association.

I disagree. I’ve always thought around 5:30 to be a game show slot; The Getaway Car and Can’t Touch This were put to the slaughter there, and more often than not some Pointless Celebrities or Celebrity Mastermind is airing around that time as well. In addition, last week they had a Saturday quiz block on BBC2 from 4 to 5:30, and clearly it’s been timed for those people who are so ravenous for quizzes that three quiz shows just ain’t enough.

I can’t agree, 5:30 on Saturday is the time for light knockabout fun not relatively serious big prize quizzes.

I admit to not remembering the last time I watched Who Dares Wins on the actual TV though, after 10 years or so it is quite helpful to be able to fast forward through Nick going ‘It could be up to…£50,000!’

Will there be an exciting twist in which the Golden Five will be determined by the Road to Sortition… and then has to play Prisoner’s Dilemma against the winner of the Hall of Fame?
