This looks as though it might be, you might say, right up our alley. It’s Resident Evil Boyard, and it’s been made by Arthur’s production company (the mononymous French host and DJ, responsible for hosting our fave version of Deal or No Deal). A bunch of celebs have two hours to infiltrate District Z, challenged by its mysterious billionaire owner, and complete challenges to win gold bars. But they have to avoid being contaminated by ZOMBIES.

It looks like it’s had quite the budget spent on it (the set’s the size of ten football fields, apparently). Outside of France you’ll probably need a VPN to watch it – I’m busy on Friday night so will have to watch on catch-up. However let us know what you think! It surely has to be a bit more engaging than I Survived A Zombie Apocalypse.

Here’s something that should be good fun. Noel’s House Party very quickly rose to the top of the Saturday night light entertainment game (after a few years of practice with The Late Late Breakfast Show and the Saturday Roadshow), but rather had a lengthy fall from grace in the latter years of its life.

There is a tremendous documentary about it to be made someday. In the meantime, Highgrove Media on Youtube (who has uploaded all the House Party and Saturday Roadshow episodes in the past, as well as some gallery recordings) has put together a two hour look back with highlights and unseen footage and is likely well worth a look:

In other news, and I’m writing this here mainly so I don’t forget, Arthur’s new zombie themed Boyard-esque adventure gameshow District Z starts Friday on TF1 at 8:05pm UK/9:05 CET. It looks like it has quite the budget. Here’s the English language story. And also an English language pitch film.

Wheel of Hammond

The Sun reporting that Alison Hammond is being lined up to host a reboot of Wheel of Fortune, 19 years after it last aired.

We like Alison (who was also the ref on underappreciated The Time It Takes, let us not forget) but before anyone gets too excited there’s no guarantee the reboot will be successful – it’s the sort of show that channels internationally reboot every few years only for it not to last all that long.

We always thought Ace of Base’s Wheel of Fortune 2009 is itching to be used in some capacity as a Wheel theme.
